Gatlinburg Timeshares

Has anyone done any Gatlinburg timeshares tours. Is there high pressure as Florida ones.

I am thinking about doing this to score Dollywood tickets.

If they is to high pressure then I will leave the timeshares tours alone buy my ticket from AAA.

I haven't gone to a timeshare presentation that isn't high pressured. Having said that however, definately go. Steel yourself with reserve to "BUY NOTHING"! I have gotton discounts on Luau's in Hawaii, snorkeling trips and a $100 dinner in Kauai. When they ask me why I am there, I tell them up front, "I am here for the free gift". I let them know I will never buy but I will politely listen for the 60 to 90 minutes required. When they ask me part way through why I won't buy and I tell them, I am usually given my "free gift" to leave early and save them the time.

I read on Clark Howard's bb about buying a time share on the secondary market in South Africa. Someone wrote in and said that he bought one for less than $1500, maintainance fees are less than $300 and he trades it for any place in the world. aThe reason for South Africa is that he will never go there and the maintainance fees and initial cost is cheap. When he doesn't use it, he feels he can sell it on ebay.

We own at Hilton Head and my parents own at Mt. Loft in Gatlinburg. We've taken many tours and some were more high pressure than others. The one we took in Gatlinburg (Blue Green Resorts owns Mt. Loft) was not bad. We got a great bunch of freebies and the place is awesome. My parents did buy from a presentation, but we ended up buying on the resale market. You just have to do your research.
