Gatlinburg question

Which hotel has the best location in Gatlinburg for shopping and eating right outside your door? I'd like to be in the heart of it all.

Even though I have been to Gatlinburg many times before I never remember to take note of where to stay.

I live 30 minutes away so whenever we go we don't stay overnight. When relatives come down here's where I direct them.

River Terrace Resort & Best Western Twin Islands are pretty much smack-dab in the middle of it all. Easy walk to the Aquarium and to both shopping concentrations.

I think we have stayed at the Twin place. I was kind of looking for something 3 star or over this time though. We liked this place but are now looking for someplace new and a tad more upscale.

Just got back stayed at ALPINE VILLAGe a short walk into down but very secluded/private and NICE

Can't find Alpine Village on any travel sites. Was it a chalet?
