Gatlinburg cabin question

So my DH and I and either two or three other couples are looking to do a long weekend in August in a cabin in this area. I've been googling and searching and have seen some beautiful ones ranging all over in price it seems.

We definitely want something more modern and a hot tub is a must and possibly a pool table. And I think the consensus was that they would like something with a nice view.

We don't really plan to go anywhere much. Its just a getaway with no kids so we plan to cook and drink wine and play cards and just hang out.

I'm not famliar with the area at all and have never rented a cabin here so I'm looking for suggestions.

Thanks!

DH and I have rented cabins twice from Sunset Accommodations. The first cabin we rented was called Mountain Whispers (1-bedroom with loft) and the last time we rented Lasting Impressions (3 bedroom and loft). They were both beautiful, but the second one even moreso. They were full log cabins with lots of amenities (we must have a hot tub, pool table, air hockey, etc.). The first one had more of a wooded view, but the second one had a gorgeous mountain view. I would love to rent that same cabin again, we just really enjoyed it.

I know there are lots of cabin rental companies. Good luck in choosing! :)

I have used Sunset Rentals also, but I have used VRBO too. I would give them a try.

My partner's parents host a family vacation in Gatlinburg each year and they use American Patriot Getaways http://patriotgetaways.com/. The cabins are huge, modern, and every one we have stayed at has had a hot tub. Other common amenities include a pool table, air hockey table, big screen TV. One even had an in-home theater.

We have rented from www.sugarmaplecabins.com several times and have been very happy.

Here is a link to the one who have booked this summer

We've also rented this one twice

They have cabins ranging from 1-bedroom, to cabins that sleep 30 people. They are very convenient to Dollywood and Splash Country, as well as the downtowm area and Smoky Mountain National Park.

Have a great trip no matter what you decide!

Golden Valley Rentals is one that we've been very happy with...and we've used several different companies. It's locally owned and very convenient in Pigeon Forge near Wears Valley Rd, not far from Dollywood.

I also want to offer you some advice we've had to learn through the years.

Make sure you call and go over every amenity of the cabin with the company -prior- to booking. We've found that the online descriptions have had major errors and ended up with non-regulation (kiddie) size pool tables, no satellite/cable, no wi-fi/internet, no local calling, etc. The one with no cable was during Christmas/New Years and the guys were freaking OUT over no sports.

For the most part we've always had a great time, but I just wanted to let you know this.

You will LOVE the smokies, have a great trip! :goodvibes

I second Sugar Maple and would also recommend Timber Tops. :thumbsup2 We live about 2 1/2 hours from that area and take frequent weekend getaways to the mountains.

Thanks everyone, looks like I've some good places to research over the weekend.

And thanks Lehuaann for the tip. We would be disappointed if we got there and it wasn't what it was supposed to be. A kiddie pool table would really suck.
