We are traveling with my friend's family. My friend has recently had gastric by-pass surgery. The package they are purchasing is with the dining plan. I have read that buffets will allow a person who has had this surgery to pay a child's price. My question is if/how she can purchase the dining plan at a child's price. When doing the reservation, the CM didn't know anything about any of the exceptions. She has the letter/card from her physician. Has anyone done this before? As a value for the family, the dining plan is really the way to go, but for her alone, not practical in any way.

Unfortunately she cannot purchase the DDP at a child's price. She can though, pay for buffets OOP at the child's price according to others who have posted here with the same situation. Anyone can use her credits who is w/in your party, or the alternative would be to NOT list her on the ressie and add her on once you're there. This way she would not be subject to purchasing the DDP and could buy her park tickets separately and pay OOP for meals. This has also been suggested for those who have PEG tubes and do not eat at all as if they're on a ressie and everyone else has the DDP, they have to have it too even though they're unable to eat.---Kathy
