Gas Prices: Over $3.00/gal?

I filled up this morning at $2.73, which was actually a little high for us. Last week we were around $2.49.

Reno, NV $3.09 - regular unleaded

I wish the stations had to post the actual (pretax) gallon price. I was in Oregon awhile back and noticed on the pump that they do that there.
Here, so many different taxes are added onto the per gallon price it is hard to really know if I am paying more or less for gasoline than any of you out there.

It was $3.61 yesterday and I am sure we will be at almost $4.00 this summer. We are looking for a cheap gas saving car since my Dh commutes about 70 miles a day but cheap and Alaska don't go together:scared:

... in Southern California it ranges from $3.07-$3.20 ...
I'm a bit north of L.A. and it's the same here. I'm lucky if I find anything cheaper than about $3.10

I wish we paid that for gas!! We're paying $1.07 a litres here which works out to about $4.01 a gallon

LOL, wish we paid THAT!!

We pay £1.23 a litre ...... Around U.S. $7.38 a gallon!!! :scared1:

How do you get around? Is there public transit or anything? I have to commute somewhere between 210-240 mi (338-386 km) once to twice a week. I'd run out of money really fast if gas cost that much all the time! :scared1:

$3.05 Western New York, $3.01 if you get a sale.

Luckily i have a very short commute, around 48 miles per week :) £25 (around $38) will keep me going for over a week if im careful :)

It had been in the $2.60 - $2.75/gallon range here for awhile, but then slowly started creeping up. Yesterday it was $2.93/gallon. I did have a 50 cent per gallon discount coupon from the grocery store so that brought yesterday's fill-up to $2.33/gallon. That doesn't happen very often though. I know it will be over $3.00/gallon soon, with Memorial weekend, and the beginning of summer, coming up soon. :(

For those that think its going up because of the spill-it SHOULDN"T be. They are price gouging if they claim that because it was not a working rig-they were not collecting yet off of that rig.

I think its just going up because as PPs said, its the beginning of summer and getting close to travel times.

Its been quietly creeping up for months.

I am just starting to open mail with increases in fuel surcharges on invoices, it had been steady for awhile.

We pay $1.03/liter
Thats about $4/G
Explain how I live in a country with more crude oil than all the middle east combined and we pay more for gas than the US next door?

$2.92 here. It really shouldn't go up too much because of the spill but if you remember the hurricane season of 2004 the gas went up in anticipation of future shortages. Gas price is as much about speculation and futures as actual supply and demand.

The beginning of summer does usually see a spike with holiday travel for Memorial Day and the 4th of July. I have a drive to Indy and back this weekend so I am hoping it doesn't get ridiculous because I am going solo for this trip and can't split the cost with anyone.

I wish we were close to that amount, OP ... in Southern California it ranges from $3.07-$3.20 ... I seriously cannot remember when it was below $3.00 since I moved here in '08. It was actually almost $5.00 a gal THAT summer. :headache:

Gas in San Diego (one of the most expensive gas markets in the country) got below $2.00/gal in early '09 due to the recession. It's been at least $3.00/gal for about 6 months, I'm sure it'll go up from there.
