We are driving down from Chicago area next Friday and I was hoping some people could tell me if the price of gas in places like Floriday, Georgia, Kentucky are any better than they are here. We are curretly paying $1.82 for the cheap stuff and in some places around here its already over $2. I am trying to plan how much $$ we will need to reserve for gas.

Thanks so much!

Only 8 days till we leave!!!! :D :D

In Memphis, gas is running about $1.29 per gallon. Maybe cheaper in GA.

Just an update: I filled up (in Memphis) last night. The first station I came to was $1.39 a gallon. I did a little better down the road with $1.35 a gallon, but the price is working it's way back up.

I'm not sure about right now but we drove to WDW from Ohio Aug 2 and the gas in GA was a lot cheaper than FL. It was about $1.20 to $1.25. Try not to have to buy gas on Disney property it was around $1.50 a gallon. I know our gas prices in Ohio have take a giant increase. It was around 1.20 and now it is $1.79. http://www.usastar.com/i95/gas/gas-ga.htm try this web site if your coming down I95. It may help.

Have a great trip

Gas prices just jumped up around here. I was getting ready to pump gas yesterday for $1.56 (87 octane) and it JUMPED to $1.75 !! We were all talking about it. Some stupid excuse about another refinery burning. Hummm, could it be, no, Labor w/e coming up ;)

Check this site for gas prices along the way. It's also pretty accurate for the length of travel time

luveeyore2 - I know you will not be going my way, but on national news this morning they said that prices should be going down after Labor Day weekend. Hopefully you will see a decrease in the prices and save a few bucks for gas. They said that prices always go up on Memorial Day and Labor Day. Now, anyone south, send some of your gas prices this way, we are $2.00 a gallon and still going up. I would rather be at Disney paying $1.50. I would just rather be at Disney! Have a great trip and drive safely.

FILL UP OR TOP OFF IN GA. On our most recent trips there has been a 30 cent per gallon difference between GA & FL.

Also, if you are coming down I95 try this link: http://www.usastar.com/i95/homepage.htm

and click on gas price update. (Or use it to give you an idea of gas prices in those states that 95 travels thru)

Drove from Chicago to WDW - August 14/15 came back 22/23 - paid $1.27 in Tenn on the way down and $ 1.20 in Georgia - pretty much the same on the way back - it was $1.65 in Indiana closer to home and now at home its $1.93. Fill up in the middle states and avoid the florida turnpike gas - its 30 cents higher than Georgia.

Full up in GA they are always cheaper then FL and AL because they have less gas tax then most other states.
