The hurricane isn't going to come close to any of the gulf coast drilling rigs or refineries, so it shouldn't have an impact. It could mess with New England's LNG supply, but I assume they'll just put the ships out to sea and wait it out.
Lowest I've seen so far here in Unon Co, NC (suburb of Charlotte) is $3.34/gal. It's gone down by about .25 in the last 3 days or so! I'm excited to see prices coming down- we drive to WDW in less than a week, and it will be nice to save a little $$ on fillups.
I posted that gas was least expensive for our area @ $3.79 a gallon yesterday. Today, same price but you can't get any regular. The lines are incredible all day here today. Tomorrow will be worse. I expect to see price gouging due to the storm - even if it is illegal.
I posted earlier about Toledo, OH being 2.99- 3.12 in the past few days - well today it jumped to 3.45!!!
It's crazy how it came jump that high in a day.
With the election and bad weather approaching maybe we should fill out tanks today! I was really hoping it would stay down until after our WDW trip in January. Who knows?
Gas was the equivalent of $4.37/gallon over the weekend. It had been around $5/gallon for a very long time. It's predicted to go under $4/gallon by Christmas. Before you think that this is expensive - when I lived in MN 3 years ago, I spent about $600/month on gas (at $3/gallon). Now I spend about $150/month.
Maybe it's rude to say this but I'm glad that gas prices are finally going up for someone else, someone who doesn't live on the west coast. It just seems like every time there's a big hike in prices it's mainly here!
Of course, I don't want anyone to have to go through it but a few weeks ago it was over $4 and now it's coming down and is at $3.63 today.
It's just one of those, finally it's not happening to me moments.
The gov't sent some trucks- a lot of them to release oil from the strategic reserves a few months ago in order for gas prices to go down before November 6. My brother works at one of the domes where the oil was released and repeated what he heard some guys in suits discussing.
Came down from near $4 to 3.69 about 4 weeks ago. It's been stuck there now for 4 weeks.
I put 89 oct in 1 car and premium in the other. In town it was $4.29 for premium, but up on the interstate, it was $4.15. I've been filling premium for 3.99 for the past 4 weeks.
Ridiculous how variable the price of gas is around the country It is nearly beneficial financially to drive an hour to Ohio for gas.
