We will be driving down the NJ Turnpike from upstate NY and would like to stop in Southern NJ to fill up with some cheaper gas. Anyone know of a good truck stop or similar close to Delaware Memorial Bridge? Thanks.

Being fron NJ, there is no such thing. Right now in Northern NJ regular will run you around $2.53 to $2.65 per gallon.

Unless you get off of the turnpike, you will pay 10-15 cents more a gallon at a turnpike station.. I paid $2.47 at my local station.
Thant being said, if you get off at Exit 3- Bellmawr, there are two stations about two blocks from the turnpike exit. You can Buy your gas and get right back on. Today that would cost you $2.45, but gas prices change DAILY in NJ

Just after the toll booth on the NJPike, I usually get off at Exit 1

At the lights go right, over I295 to the Flying J Truck Stop.

It usually has the best gas price BUT not always.

My history with it has been traditionally .05 or more lower than the pike, but last Nov. when I was moving to FL they were actually .02 higher than the NJPike station. I don't know if it was a new trend or my bad timing.

YMMV

It's all a matter of perspective. Gas is from 10 to 25 cents per gallon cheaper in NJ than it is in PA, due to PA's high gas taxes. People from PA who work or play in NJ will wait to get gas until they go to NJ, and PA people who live very close to the river will even drive over JUST FOR the cheaper gas -- even with the bridge toll figured in, they still save money!

... but not on the toll roads. By state law, every gas station on the Turnpike, Garden State Parkway and Atlantic City Expressway have EXACTLY the same prices, and by law they are only permitted to change prices once each week, on Thursdays.

Back maybe a year or so ago when prices were galloping up daily, by Tuesday or Wednesday a lot of people like me were getting gas on the Expressway or Parkway because it was actually cheaper than at the regular stations, at least until the Thursday price change.

Yeah you would have to get off the pike to get cheaper gas. The best thing about NJ is they put the gas for you!! Woo hooo!!! I hate putting in gas. I have been so spoiler that when I'm in another state I yearn the NJ stations.

If you are not coming through at rush hour, get off the turnpike at exit 7 and follow the signs to I295 south. You will pass a couple truck stops that have about the best prices you will find in the south jersey area. You will also save a few bucks on tolls. You will have about 55 miles to Delaware and you can figure your next stop at Fredricksburg or Ashland VA - about 4 plus hours for cheap gas.
