Gas cost

Going into what I take on the road. I do take my snapon impact with a bunch of sockets (even helped someone else change a tire at a truck stop.) My 5 ton bottle jack, and thanks to my leveling jacks and some blocks I never have an issue raising an axle to change a tire!!

As for other stuff I have, usually have extra fuel and oil filters a gallon of motor oil, windshield washer fluid, a general assortment of tools, fuses, and most of all baby wipes to clean the grime off when I am done.

Rland I am going make a guess that you intend to take I95 corridor down If you can wait to top off till you get to here in De you will see major savings in ppg from your home in Pa ( I ride a pvt ambulance that transports on a regular basis to Philly so I see it ) There is a WAWA on SR 141 just south of Wilmington that will give you an easy on / off and not at highway prices.
My DW signed us up for a fuel plan that Pilot/ Flying J has in connection with Good Sam we use the card get fuel at cash price but have to pay off at end of 30 day period from first use. If show your Good Sam card at cashier prior to paying for gas and pay cash you get a discount on the price. Pilot Fly J website does list services provided and prices but we hae found the prices to be highly unreliable as they seem not to regularly update. We hae found the following to be true on our trips down 2 by car (Gas) 2 by coach (Diesel) Lower prices can be found in VA SC and Fla as opposed to NC and Ga We try to stop at exit 11 Emporia in Va Exit 77 in St Georges in SC and again at exit 305 in St Augustine Fl for our fuel needs

I agree with FtW Mike. We drove to SC a few weeks ago. We paid 1.69 in SC and about 1.80 in VA. We weren't on 95, so it was probably somewhat cheaper. We noticed that it was more expensive in NC.

I was hoping you would comment Peg110... When I wrote this I should have been more specific I was looking for the total cost for gas. How much do you guys typically spend for gas for your trip?

See my biggest issue is, I have to get the trailer inspected, its my first time really taking a travel trailer anywhere. I have this huge fear of driving and a tire blowing out or something like that as well as I feel like it will take us so much longer to get down there.

We also got this idea to take my younger brother with us to help with the kids. I only thought of AoA because, 1. With DS Autism he needs space to run around in. 2. He loves cars and nemo right now.

But again I feel like I am just again missing out on the fort which will be four years in a row now lol. I know the fort will always be there but I just have dreamed of being there.

someone make up my mind for me lol

Honestly, it's my opinion that a TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) is essential for all RV's! I've had a few tire blowout issues and spent a fair amount of money fixing the damage from and replacing tires. With the system it gives me the peace of mind to let me know before something with the tires is about to happen. And sure enough it saved my bacon on my 1st trip after I installed. I was able to safely pull off to a gas station and change the tire before a blowout. The government requires it by law on all newer cars. It's basically $300 insurance policy. This is just from my experience and my opinion only!! Have fun on whatever you decide and stay safe!

Gas prices rising!!! :(

On another note - dh uses a laser infrared temp. 'gun' to check the heat in MH tires and tow vehicle every time we stop for 'anything'. We had a 'blow out' on our fifth wheel once - no fun!!!
