Was watching the local news last night (upstate NY) and there were some who were predicting that gas would hit $4 a gallon (for regular unleaded) by the 4th of July..
Early last evening I had to run over to town and it was already $2.97 there.. It will definitely be $3 (if not higher) by Memorial Day Weekend..
What kind of prices are you looking at - and will it curtail your 4th of July activities?
I'm already where I celebrate the 4th, but I imagine my son-in-law will no longer be filling up his jet skiis and boat so friends can use them whenever the mood strikes.. Hopefully they'll "offer", but if they don't, I think he may just have to come right out and tell them that he can't afford to subsidize their recreational activities at those prices.. (And keep in mind - whatever the cost of gas is "on the road", it's always substantially higher at the marinas and you're not allowed to fill your watercraft from gas cans here because the lake is actually a "reservoir" and has all sorts of very strict policies..)
