Garmin FR60 help

This might be a general Garmin question, too. I Galloway, usually a 3:1 ratio. I can set the Garmin to count off 3:1, but it doesn't give mile splits. Just the small 4 minute laps.

Is you experience the same? Is there a way to get it to autolap at the miles?

Unfortunately, Garmin overrides the distance alerts when it is in interval mode.

I think that is correct. I can only speak for the 305 and the 205 as others that I familiar with. Though it makes sense. You are trying to focus the workout (or in the run walk case a race) on performing the interval and then not extending the recovery. In timed interval work we are not that concerned about distance, only pushing through the end. Likewise, if you set the intervals up as a distance run and distance recovered (walked) you would still not care about mile splits; only getting to the end of the interval.

I think it is doing exactly what it needs to do - as would other devices. It's still a great device and beats the heck out of driving the route 3-4 times to get a distance before you head out the door.

You may be able to set one of the function readout to average pace for the last split. That would in effect give you your split as you progress through the run. Not sure if this unit does that but will look.


ADDED - the answer to the above is a maybe. Would need to play with the unit. Seems like if you had autolap on during interval work that the screen may continue to roll though and show 'L PACE' or lap pace. Its something the play with and will give you an answer during the mile of your average pace.

You can install software called sport tracks and download your workouts to it. On the splits screen you can use recorded laps or create laps based on Distance.
