Garmin Forerunner 620 Initial Impression…

Are you running a lot of run/walks?

I am running (45 sec runs/ 45 sec walks) and have about 60% or better battery left after 4 miles. I did not have live feed turned off during my last four miler.

I am doing a Holiday Run on Sunday, Dec. 15. If I can figure out how to set it up, I will turn live feed on too and give it a test.

Unexpectedly received my 220 yesterday! The shipping date was supposed to be 12/13. I am excited to try it out this weekend, but I think I will wear my 110 as well until I get the hang of using it.

Ran the Holiday Run with Live Track on. Set up was actually very easy. It didn't seem to affect the battery life at all but it was only 1 hour.

I currently have a 305. I am possibly looking at getting something else. My husband has also just started running and is interested in the 310XT. I am wondering about the major differences in the 220 and 620 and how do those compare to the 310XT? It's so confusing! Lol. Any opinions are appreciated. :)

Thanks!

I don't know about your 305 but I had a 410 before the 620. Much faster to connect and move between screens. I love uploading to my iPhone from the watch. Then I can look at my morning workout at lunchtime. The lighter weight is also a plus. I was afraid of running out of power in the full (I'm a slower runner). I won't with the 620.

Has anyone made any interval workouts on the new devices?

If it only uses the internet to create the workout, then have we lost the ability to get very customized workouts?

My interval setup in Garmin Training Center for Half Marathons basically is setup as:

1. Repeat the steps below for 13.5 Miles:
1.1 Run 4 minutes
1.2 Walk 1 minute

I only see the option to repeat steps up to 40 times using the Garmin Connect online.

If Garmin Connect is the only way besides the watch to setup workouts, then I'm thinking that I'm not liking the new devices as much. :(
