Not sure if there is a thread about GardenWalk - did a search and did not see any :confused3

Anyway, is GardenWalk within easy walking distance from DLR? How about from HoJo? I have found some good deals for a couple of restaurants there and was wondering if it would be a good option for lunch.

I saw ConnieB liked Fire+Ice and it does look fun, any other suggestions/reviews for restaurants in the area? Nothing fancy, we have a rowdy 8 year old

Yeah its really not that far of a walk. I usually stay at the Anaheim Plaza Hotel and its literally right behind our hotel so its nice. Go to the parks for the day then have a drink at Bar Louie in the Garden Walk at night. $3 Beer of the month :thumbsup2

My kids loved going to Bubba Gumps a couple of years ago. Their meal came with blue jello.....which they were very excited about.

Bubba Gump shrimp company is over there and has very good food. Fire and Ice was great too and has very yummy mixed drinks. You can get some great deals at the shops as well. :thumbsup2

Thanks! It does not look far on the maps but you never know ;) I took a look at the GardenWalk site and there seem to be some good places to try out - and yes I checked out all of their happy hours

Ya it's about 10-15 minutes I think. We usually drive it but we always drive so we have our own car. :) We really enjoy eating at CA Pizza Kitchen, Bubba Gump, PF Chang's and Cheesecake Factory. All have great food, all are great for families and the ones I've had adult drinks at have had great drinks. :) I discovered my new favorite drink this last week, had it at RFC and the GCH, saw it on the menu at TJ's (still did NOT like the food and it did NOT agree with DBF or myself again so we won't go back) and at CA Pizza Kitchen, White Sangria, Pinot Grigio mixed with Peach Schnapps and fruit juice....OMG YUM!!!! :)

Not too far at all. Bubba Gump is our annual must do. Fun atmosphere and great food. This year I'm looking forward to trying Cheesecake Factory and PF Chang. There seem to always be some good coupons floating around out there for them so I fully intend to put some to use!

ConnieB here...yep, love Fire & Ice and a rowdy 8 year old should love the energy in this place!

As for walking....we stay in a hotel next to Garden Walk (Clementine & Harbor) and the walk TO Disney isn't too bad....but at the end of the day, that walk back is several times longer somehow. BUT....going either way, you can take the Disney bus to the Toy Story lot which is directly across the street from Garden Walk....so if you're up for a walk, do it, but know that if after stuffing your gut and keeping that 8 year off the ceiling you don't want to walk back....take the bus.

Other restaurants:
McCormick and Schillng has an awesome sounding "happy hour". Check their website as the actual menu changes, but the prices are cheap but the food sound delicious. We'll be doing this first week of May, so I'll try to remember to report back on whether it's as good as it sounds! Oh...and I had an email conversation with the General Manager about whether those under 21 could be in the bar area where Happy Hour happens....according to him, they can be at the TABLES in the bar area, but not sit at the bar itself. Which is what we'd have done anyway....but some states don't allow kids even in the bar area so I wanted to be sure before embarassing my teens by having to leave, lol.

Bubba Gump has great seafood, but other great food before. I haven't eaten at the Anaheim branch yet, but in other towns it's been great.

California Pizza Kitchen and PF Changs are good food, but in my personal opinion over hyped and over priced, lol. Coupons might make me go but otherwise, probably not.

Care to share where you found good deals...we'll be there in 3 weeks so always looking for coupons, lol.

ConnieB - Thanks for the bus info! That is good to know. I was thinking of maybe doing lunch at GW one of the days we are there.

As far as coupons go I think you know Fire + Ice is on restaurant.com, Calif Kitchen has a free email club (free kids meal on their bday) and also a 20% off coupon on the Anaheim Visitors website. Johnny Rockets is in the Entertainment Book. Also you can get a free VIP pass from the GardenWalk website (Bar Louie, Fire+Ice and the candy shop have 15% coupons). Those are the ones I remember, I know I wrote them all down but have to find my notebook in the mess I have on my desk :surfweb:

Restaurant.com just had an 80% off sale but I missed it - it is actually cheaper to buy the rest.com gc and then use that to get the Fire+Ice gc ;)
I am waiting until closer to our dates to sign up online to all these clubs - if they send a freebie for newbies I want it!

Where have you found these?

Where have you found these?

You can go to the Gardenwalk website, http://www.anaheimgardenwalk.com/, check out all the dining links and menus and then sign up for e-mails from each restuarant you are interested in. I recieve offers on a fairly regular basis. I'm signed up with Cheesecake Factory, PF Chang and Bubba Gump in the mall. And Rainforest Cafe and Denney's outside the mall. Our last trip I think I had a coupon for just about every place we dined.

You can also read through the DIS's very own coupon thread for some good ideas.

we stayed on the corner of harbour and katella and ate in that area almost every night. we had a party of 8 and found it really hard to eat at a reasonable time in disney/dtd, even the rainforest could only take reservations for us at 8:30pm all week long. we ate at bubba gumps, the cheesecake factory and johnny rockets and walked right in with no wait.

Us too - we ate there this Thursday - good as usual but we ate too much food!!! Will be eating at the Orlando Bubba Gump in August also. I also converted my brother last time - he ate at Bubba's 3 times on his Orlando trip.

Also last week we ate at California Pizza Kitchen with a 20% discount - all 3 of us ate for less than $50 - including drinks - pretty good.

DD loves the Hollister shop at GW - we have them over here in the UK at about twice the price!

The Garden Walk was quite good for meals. We stayed at the Residence Inn Maingate so it was a quick walk for us. As we walked past it every day on our way to Disneyland we always said we'd check it out but never did until our last few days. We ate at the California Pizza Kitchen twice (once take away, once dined in) and enjoyed the meals.

As others have said, it's about a 10-15minute walk from Disneyland.
It has a great night life, there is a club there I think (we could hear the music at night but it wasn't too bad) and there are a few nice little clothes shops on the lower level but otherwise it's a bit depressing to see the closed shops because of the GFC. Nevertheless, we bought a fair few jackets/coats from one place and had a little splurge $$$$ at one of the lollie stores.
