I just found out gardengrocer can't deliver the day we arrive but the day after is okay. I hope a fellow DISer can help us out. A few questions..

1)Would it be okay to have our groceries delivered the following day even though we will be at the parks all day? I will be ordering some perishables like milk and yogurt. Do they pack the perishable on ice? Would it last all day into early evening?

2) What other supermarkets deliver besides Wegoshop and Goodings?
I tried wegoshop. For order up to $100.00 it $22.00 plus a delivery fee. Goodings cost $20.00 to deliver!!

We will be arriving via Magical Express.

the next day early should be fine. Just call up and see if that is avail. Our resort stored our stuff for us while we were out at the parks. And them the delivered it right to our room when we got back. We used garden grocer last week and everything was perfect.:thumbsup2

Bell Services at your resort can store your groceries and perishables in refrigerated cases while you are out. I think they do this a lot!! We used gardengrocer and they were great ... we will use them again in December. Have a great trip.

I'm using wegoshop & the fee for up to $100.00 is only $17.00 ????? I spoke w/the lady there. She did say that if I wanted her to go to the liquor store it would be an additional $5.00 . But if you just want beer or wine she can get it at the grocery store. Was there anything else that made you not want to try wegoshop?

Do I have to contact Bell Services and ask them to do this or will they do this automatically?

I read the fees on their website. I just looked up Orlando and the fees were posted under there.

on the website did you check under disney resorts? Maybe thats the differnece? Although I will be a disney resort. I checked disney resort pricing.

I called gardengrocer today to inquire about what will happen if we are not in our room when they deliver (we won't even have a room yet when it's our delivery time!) and the gal on the phone asked which resort we were staying in.

I told her the Movies and she said that we did not need to present as there is a freezer/fridge that the castmembers will store the perishables in.

I would definitely snag the next available delivery day as they are SUPER busy right now and those dates are going to fill up too. Glad I reserved in May!

Wegoshop says on their website that they price match other online grocery sites delivery fees...you might see if they will match the $12 gardengrocer fee.

I was able to get the day after we arrive with gardengrocer which isn't too bad. Next trip I will make sure I order a month or two ahead .

Q: For those of you that ordered online and gave your credit card information, do your know if you card was billed at the time you placed your order or if they wait until closer to the delivery date to charge your card?? I am curious because I "paid" online but the charges have not gone thru my account yet??

I was billed right then...it showed up when I checked my acct online.

I just ordered water from Cosco yesterday (Tuesday) and we come into OKW on Sunday...I am now realizing it will beat us there. They will hold it for us, right? I did put our arrival date and confirmation number on the address. This is our 1st attempt to order stuff to be delivered to our resort.

We used gardengrocer in July for the second time. They were wonderful!

When I placed my order, I wrote that we would really like our order delivered the date we were arriving. The next screen said that time was not available, so I checked the earliest time the following day.

To my surprise, they called me when we were still at our home airport about to get on our plane. They had just delivered our groceries! :woohoo:

I was so excited. :cool1: Now I will have them for breakfast the following day.

They were kept in the luggage holding area. All cold items were kept in the refrigerator.

Not saying that will happen for you. But it happened for us.

Here's a little pixie dust!pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

I placed my order yesterday. I called and asked them what I should do since they aren't delivering on the day I arrive, and they said I could ask for the day before but write in the notes the actual day I was arrving. The day before isn't available either, so I chose *two* days before, but the guy said that would be fine. He said as long as I put when I was arriving in the notes it would be cool since that way they know they can hold off a bit on our delivery.

I was thinking about choosing the day after, but I really need the stuff to be there the day we arrive.

How far in advance should you place an order? I'll be there in November. We will be arriving at CSR pretty late, around 9-10 pm. So will they will just put it in bell services and it will be there when we arrive? I'll call when I make my order and let them know this and also tell CSR about it. I'd like it there when we arrive so we could have the water and breakfast foods cold and ready for us the next morning.

Thanks!

I'm afraid this will be a really dumb question, but I'll ask anyway.

We're staying at the Contemporary next summer, in the cheapest room we could find, for 6 nights.

How much room is there to store groceries? What kinds of stuff do you guys typically order? To be honest, it would never have occurred to me had I not read about in here; now I'm intrigued.

We are actually having our groceries delivered the day before we arrive. They could not deliver the day of our arrival or the day after, so I called and spoke to someone at the CR and they said it was fine to have them delivered the day before. :) And that they would keep them for us.

And I noted that we weren't checking in until the next day on our garden grocer order form and gave them our cell phone number.

I am planning to place a small order too... Can anyone tell me how far in advance I should palce my order?

We are down to 23days and counting...

I placed my order a month in advance. I ordered some snacks, poptarts, doughnuts, bananas, yogurt, 2 cases of water, and milk. I had to get lactaid because my DD is lactose intolerant. I got half gallons of milk because the fridge is small. I got things we could use for breakfast so we could get out of the hotel early. Things we can eat on the go.

I didn't even think of the day before because of the perishables plus we are arriving around 8pm. We just have to eat breakfast in the resort and get a couple of bottles of water in the parks that day. no biggie :)

The refrigerator is very small so it won't hold too much. I usually buy a styrofoam cooler to place the bottled water in. We ordered 2 gallons of water for the room plus a case of 24 bottles of water for the parks. We are on the ddp we could use the snack credits to buy water but I rather use it for something else like funnel cake or a muffin. We also got apples, bananas, oranges and grapes. Cold cereal, yogurt, granola bars, pp&j, bread, cheese and juice. I also bought a small bottle of tide so I can do some laundry when we take a break from the parks.
