Garden View Tea Room

Has anyone been to the Garden View Tea Room? Is it toddler-friendly? We have a girls tea date planned during Memorial Day weekend. There will be 2 two year olds.

I've been several times, it's not very toddler friendly. It's a small room and furniture is pretty tight - plus the tables are covered in fine china, tablecloths, etc. I was afraid to move around too much =)

People do bring very well behaved small children in there with the understanding that they may have to slip out if the child gets tired of sitting still. It opens into the GF lobby so it's easy to slip out but it may not make a visit very fun.

They do have a child's tea, and I saw a child's birthday party there once, but the little girls were in the 8-9 year old range. They were adorable all dressed up for tea.

If the 2-year-olds are capable of sitting very still, and using very quiet voices, the entire time you're there, it'd be OK. But that doesn't sound like a lot of fun for a two-year-old.

It's very small, very elegant, and very quiet. Even normal toddler voices would really stand out in there. And as others have said, the tables are quite close together, and there's lots of delicate fine china. I'd be a nervous wreck taking a pair of two year olds in there.

The tea will be a great experience when they're a little older. In the meantime, could someone in your party take the little ones for a walk around the GF grounds while you're having tea? There's plenty of places to run around and lots to see (ducks, bunnies, etc.). The kids would no doubt enjoy that a lot more than sitting in the tea room.
