Does anyone know what types of tea sandwich's they have at the GF Tea Room?

I cannot remember what type specifically and I would like to use that as a guideline for an upcoming gathering.

Any help would be great!!

Thanks:goodvibes

As long as they have not changed, I think they were...

cucumber and watercress
chicken salad (But not like any other chicken salad I have had. Love theirs.)
pears and cheese (I think)
egg salad

That is if I am remembering correct. I am not a cuke person. So I switch out my cuke/watercress for an extra chicken salad.
I have a friend who eats gluten free, and she has been able to get sandwiches made from rice bread.

egg salad, pear and gargonzola, salmon paste or chicken paste i don't recall which and cucumber. on the flip sied you can request a substitute for example i can't stand the pear one and always ask for 2 egg salad and they all come on a different bread. hope that helps!
the tea is fabulous too and the deserts are to die for yummy it's an anual tradidiotn for us!!! ;)

It's funny because the pear and gorgonzola sandwich is my favorite now. At first I couldn't imagine the combination but it works!

Do any of them have nuts in them? I am allergic to all nuts except for almonds.

My DD is also allergic to nuts and is a vegetarian... they were able to accomodate her with no problem... just let them know when you make your reservation.

Thank you,

I knew I could count on you guys.

Already making out my shopping list:lmao:

I really loved the sandwiches. I am not brave enough to do clotted cream, biscuit and berry topping.

Not to hijack, but we are doing a mother/daughter tea day here in April and I wondered if anyone has a opinion on the English trifle?

1) Give it a try.
2) it is not as yucky as it sounds.
3) I do think you will like it.

NOTE: Clotted cream (also known as Devonshire cream or Devon cream) is a thick yellow cream made by heating unpasteurized cow's milk and then leaving it in shallow pans for several hours. During this time, the cream content rises to the surface and forms clots.

Clotted cream sounds pretty bad -- but actually very good. Like a very light whipped butter. Not quite whipped cream. But not butter either.
Lots of fat content I am sure. So can't go wrong on taste. :lmao:
I have had it there. Just remember it being good. Seems like I bought clotted cream at Cost Plus Old World Market too.
Unless they have changed, the brand of tea they serve is "Tea".
A year + ago I was told the brand they use to serve was becoming available at retail bookstore chains. So they switched to something a little more hard to find, and yet good quality.

I believe the pear and gorgonzola one might have walnuts in it, not sure. The cheese plate has some nuts on it.

I love the trifle! It used to be an option with the one tea 'meal'. But, the last time that we were there it was an upcharge (but worth it). They also carded us last time because they said it has sherry in it and they can only serve it to people over 21. I thought that was weird. I am not a drinker at all and I still can't taste any alcohol flavor in it.

The devinshire/clotted cream is not my favorite. It kinda tastes a bit like butter gone bad to me...which is kinda what it is. I usually ask them to bring me some fresh whipped cream instead and they are always happy to do so. I also ask for strawberry jam instead of the rasberry with seeds.
Scone with fresh whipped cream and strawberry jam is YUMMY!

Keep in mind if it's a warm day, you can get any tea on ice. Very refreshing! Oh, if you can't finish all of your yummy tea (you get the entire pot). Ask for a to go cup and you can take it with you to sip on.

Ask for Dottie (from Latrobe PA) to be your server if you go. She has been there for years and always remembers us. She has even been known to sit down and look through vacation photos with some of her regular customers. She always seems happy to accomodate any request.
