Garden View Lounge - Dress Code

Hey all,

Very quick question, I have the afternoon tea experience booked at the Garden View Lounge and the dress code is described as the following:


Could we get away with standard park attire (shorts and t-shirt) or do we need to go with something smarter?

I know it's nice to dress up but I'm going for the food and wasn't planning on taking anything other than shorts and t-shirts so just want know that we won't get turned away!

When I read it in totality it sounds to me like the only rule is no swimwear... provided the clothing is in good repair.

You will be fine in shorts and a t-shirt although you will probably see women in sundresses and dressier pants.

Thank you both. Normally I have no issues with dressing up but trying to fit that in around my plans in the parks and the timing of our booking would be a pain, so this makes it easier!

Love the dress code ‘rules’ but I would bet that you could walk in there in virtually any attire should you choose and nobody will challenge you so I wouldn’t stress about it…. Look at how many alleged ‘service’ pets are walking around the parks these days with owners flaunting the rules without challenge .. rules are for the law abiding

Just got back Tuesday from a week's stay at GF. We were there for my daughter's wedding and spent a good amount of time in the lobby. While we did not attend a tea experience, we saw many guests on various days that were there for the party- and they were all dressed up in "nicer" clothes-sundresses, skirts and tops, dress pants, etc. I did not see any shorts and t-shirts. However, I am sure you can wear whatever you feel most comfortable and whatever is easiest to plan around your park visit!

This was back in 2018, but my sister and I wore our park clothes and we weren’t the only ones.

Relax, you’re in Disney! You won’t have to worry about tuxedos and ties here.

If it's similar to how it used to be I will say that you will see a mix of park attire and nicer dress, like sundresses for women and dressier shorts/polos for men. I've gone several times before and I just wore what I wore to the parks since we left MK and went straight to our reservation, but I did feel a little underdressed. If it's in the schedule to wear something nicer, I'd do it. If not, don't worry about it.
