Has anyone eaten at the Garden Grove restaurant at the Swan and Dolphin, using a restaurant.com certificate? DH and I are thinking about purchasing one to use in a few weeks. Is the food good? Is the certificate good on the buffet or on an entree. The certificate states 2 entrees but the menu on their website only shows a buffet. We will just be two adults, no children, is it worth going to? Thanks for your advice.

1) Yes, we have used them.
2) For lunch, the eatery has entrées; for dinner a buffet.
3) If eating dinner (we did), you had to order one per person.
4) Then, the certificate came into play.

5) For a buffet, we thought it was good.
6) In fact, it beat any Disney buffet.
7) Just look at the menu, as the buffet changes on different days.
. . . Seafood (Mon, Fri)
. . . BBQ (Wed, Sun)
. . . Mediterranean (Tue, Thu, Sat)

We use restaurant.com certificate all the time. Next time we go we will use it at Garden Grove. We enjoyed our meal, good buffet good service too. We did you our DVC members discount no problem. Last time at Disney we used a certificate at House of Blues, we were blow away the food was good and the choices were many. Have a great time.

I just wanted to report back that we liked this restaurant very much. It was expensive (compared to what we usually pay but great for Disney prices). The food was delicious and well prepared. The desserts were to die for. We were told by the server that they had redone the buffet a month or so ago and it was much improved. The menu on their website was very accurate. Their bread was very very good and tasted fresh and homemade. Pluto and Goofy visited us. They spent a lot of time at the tables and the kids in the restaurant had fun playing with them. I highly recommend this restaurant.com certificate.

Which night did you go to the Garden Grove? I know they rotate the buffets & the characters.

We went on a Monday for the seafood buffet. We really enjoyed it. The seafood risotto that is made to order was so creamy and delicious. I have thought about it everyday since coming home. We used the certificate and it was still about $60 and we had 2 buffets, a milk and a glass of water. You do get to see the characters so bring a camera. There were not many people there and we went on Valentines night.

Was Timon & Rafiki there?

Are drinks include in the buffet price? Thanks!

I know that sodas are included in the price. I'm sure that most other non-alcoholic beverages are included, too.

What does this mean?

Also is it only 1 certificate per table or can my DH and I each have one?

The coupon says you have to order 2 meals to use the coupon. At $32 each plus tip, then minus $25, its still going to be $50-60.

I'm back and wanted to let you know that we did go to Garden Grove, used our coupon. It was still $100 for 2 adults and 1 child. That included $15 for parking (yikes!!!), $30 each for adults, $15 for kid, $9 for tea/soda and $6 for awful coffee.

The food was ok, the desserts were awesome!!! My son actually ate a little bit! He had about 4 chicken nuggets and 3 choc chip cookies. Not exactly his $18 worth but oh well, whatcha gonna do.

Note: We went on a Saturday night. There really wasn't much of anything on the menu that was impressive - but the desserts really did make up for it.

No. I believe we paid $3 each for soda, tea and coffee. When the server asked us if we wanted coffee with our dessert I really wasn't thinking that was going to be another $6.

Here are the menus

http://www.swandolphinrestaurants.com/gardengrove/index.html#top

Looks like right now

Sat/Tu/Thur is Mediterranean 29.99/13.99

Sun/Mon/Wed Southern BBQ 29.99/13.99

Friday Seafood 35.99/14.99 to upgrade to unlimited stuffed lobster tail 55.99/34.99 (or just to add 1 tail to the kids it is $10 more)

No drinks included in any of the dinners

Sat/Sun Breakfast 20.99/12.99 includes coffee and oj

I called last night and was told it is always Pluto and Goofy but on Friday night and Sunday morning they also have Chip and Dale.

Thanks for the info!

We bought a restaurant.com gc too and plan to eat here for the Friday night seafood buffet. I also have a TIW card but the $25 gc saves us more than TIW for the meals.

I wonder if they will allow me to purchase 2 entrees with restaurant.com and then purchase my child's meal and drinks separately with TIW...

If not, no worries. I guess I'll just ask.

Either way, I've heard good things about the Seafood dinner.

Can you tell me if you still see this as available on the website? I don't see it when I searched. :confused3 Would like to buy some if I can. TIA

I've been looking too. I haven't seen it for a while. I'm also looking for House of Blues. Last year we bought one figuring it would be just an OK lunch but it was great. Shula's is a bit out of our league. I'll send you a PM if I see it. Send me one if you see it before me, please.

Glad to hear people like HoB. We'd like to try that next time.

We ate at Garden Grove at their Friday night seafood buffet, 2 weeks ago and used restaurant.com gc. Everything was wonderful. They don't seem to have as much food as Cape May but we enjoyed what they did. And the desserts were really good, too (one thing I find lacking at some of the other buffets).

Character interaction was incredible, mostly b/c there were only like 5 families eating there so the characters just kept coming and coming and coming!

We'd definitely eat here again, too!

I haven't seen them in a while. i just checked the website and the menu says characters 8-11am. Does anyone know if they no longer have characters at dinner?

we are going for the 1st time in a few weeks and I would love to hear how the Saturday night dinner is.
