Garden Grocer Questions

I am thinking about using Garden Grocer for my next trip and have a couple questions:

1. Is it necessary for someone to be in the room at the time of delivery or can they deliver to bell services?

2. How far in advance do I need to place my order?

My family used the Garden Grocer for the first time in mid-November, and had a great experience with them.

You do not need to be in the room for delivery. In fact, you don't even need to be checked into the hotel at the time of delivery. We flew into Orlando and arrived at Saratoga Springs late morning on the day of check in.....the food was delivered to Bell services a few hours before we arrived. The bags that needed refrigeration were kept cold by bell services.

As for the timeline for ordering....I'm not sure of the notice required. There are dates that "sell out" and no additional services can be provided once they've hit the maximum orders they can handle for that day.

I placed my order about 5 days before we checked in. When I did, there was a date prior to our check in day that was sold out.

If it counts for anything, we plan to use them again on our next trip in July. Good luck with everything.

We went during a busy time of the year and ordered about 3 weeks ahead of our arrival date (we got the day and time slot we wanted).

Thank you for posting about this. I am going in January and am likely doing a bumming at the resort type vacation (staying at AKL) and won't have a car this time around so having some stuff delivered will be excellent.

Thanks. This is exactly the information I was looking for. Did Bell Services let you know the delivery was there or did you have to go and check?

I have used Garden Grocer many times and have always been happy with the service.

I place my order about 3 weeks out; I've never experienced a sold out date but I've not gone Christmas week either, lol.

The delivery time you will select is a 2 hour window and it can arrive any time within that 2 hours. I try to schedule mine to arrive at about the time I'm planning to be checked into my room; I prefer not to have Bell Services have to store it and then deliver it later (having to wait while they located a missing bag turned me off to having them store it for me).

Garden Grocer sends me a text to tell me that my groceries have been delivered to Bell Services; Bell Services has never notified me. Once I get the notice from Garden Grocer, I call or walk to Bell Services and arrange for them to deliver them to my room.

Is there a required amount you need to purchase for delivery?
We are going in Sept and have DDP but we might want to get some water and breakfast foods to keep on hand.
Thanks

We have had excellent service from Garden Grocer. They texted us and told us our food was delivered. Then we just got it from Guest Services when we arrived at the hotel.

We usually place the order about 10 days in advance and have never had a problem with it being full.

When we used them in March, there was a $12 delivery fee, and the minimum order was $40. As mentioned, with GG you have a delivery 'window' of time that you order could be delivered. Never heard from Bell Services. Did get a text message from GG, alerting me that the order had been delivered. Everything was bagged, with our name on it, and whatever needed to be kept cold was refrigerated for us. Go to their website and check them out, just in case the numbers have changed. We had no problem getting to the $40. And they will get items for you that are not listed on their web site, if you put in a request (such as beer, wine, etc). Our trip was during Spring Break crowds, and I dilly-dallied too long before placing our order, and therefore my preferred delivery date was full. I had to book it for the following day, messing up my park planning.

Yes, you give them a 2-hour window, but that doesn't mean that's when they will deliver. Both times I have used them, they have delivered our stuff well in advance of our window. The first time (last year), they called me to say they had delivered our stuff and we had only just left our house, heading to the airport - it was about 4-6 hours before the "window" we chose. They said they had other deliveries to make to our resort (CBR), so they included our stuff to make only one trip there. When Bell Services brough the stuff to our room, one bag was missing (refrigerated items). I called them up and they delivered the other bag in about 15 minutes.

Then, back in August, I got a text saying our stuff was delivered to our resort (Beach Club) and left with Bell Services right after we boarded Magical Express at MCO. This was about 2 hours before our chosen window.

Another latch on question - have anyone used them to deliver to off-site addresses with gated communities and can share the experience?
