Garden Grocer Question

I was reading about the Garden Grocer and how you can order yourself some items to be shipped to your hotel. It had mentioned that they will give you a 2 hour window in which your stuff will be delivered and then they will contact you about 30 mins prior to delivery. How does this work at the hotels? Do they deliver to the front desk? Your actual hotel room? Do you have to be there or does the front desk take it and then they bring it to your room? Do you pay at the time of ordering or when it arrives? Please give me all the details!!!! Thanks so much. We'll be staying at the Wilderness Lodge if that makes any difference :confused3

I used Garden Grocer for the first time last August. You order online and pay then. When we arrived at the WL, the items were with the bell service. The hotel has a walk-in so the milk and yogurt were cold. They delivered our groceries to the room.

I'm taking advantage of the 4/3 deal this June so I'll be ordering with them again. A word to the wise, don't wait too long to order. I was informed that they have only so many slots for delivery and once they are gone, they don't take more orders.

It was a very smooth transaction, including correcting an error I made when ordering. If you have any more questions, just ask!

I used Garden Grocer last week and it was great. I placed the order about a month in advance. I'd requested a 4:00-6:00 delivery window. We got into our room at 2:30 and just before 4:00, I got a call on my cell phone saying that they'd dropped everything off with Bell Services. I called Bell Services and they brought everything to the room. Easy peasy. So, if you're not in your room, you can just have it brought to your room when you get back.

You pay in advance and can add a tip on at that time. I'll be using them again on our next trip. :thumbsup2

they are great. they would like you to be in your room if possible for delivery. your items come in very clean and cold if needed. they put your cold items in ref for you. we wanted some things they did not have on their web site so they put them on site so we could order. would use them again.

We have used Wegoshop.com (the other Orlando area grocery delivery service) 5 times in the past and we will be using them for our upcoming trip again.
With Wegoshop.com you create your own list of exactly what you want in what size container and what quantity - rather than picking off of a preconfigured list. I prefer this method, as I find it easier to use.
They also give you a 30 minute delivery window. They have always delivered right to our room, we bypassed the Bell Services step. I think we needed to be there for delivery since we did order beer and wine.
We usually order breakfast items, juice, coffee, soda, water beer and wine, cheese and crackers etc. The cost is the cost of the groceries - there is no markup with wegoshop.com, and a delivery fee. I also tip them upon delivery
We have been extremely pleased with this service and highly recommend them.
Have a Great Trip

cost difference gardengrocer and wegoshop? The food prices are slightly higher at gardengrocer than what I usually pay, but I expect that in a tourist area. My biggest concern with wegoshop is that I won't know ahead of time how pricey the items are. Does anyone know generally how the items compare? Don't care about a few pennies here and there, but a dollar difference on multiple items will make a big difference. Thanks

We used gardengrocer last Sept. and will be using them again this year. Make sure you pay online and then just pick whatever window you think is best. Our plane got delayed and we hadn't even made it to the hotel last year, before the groceries were delivered, but that was not a problem. They delivered them and when we finally go to check in; the resort brought us our groceries. The kept everything cold ect. Worked great!

We used GG a few weeks ago and it worked pretty well... they messed up on our diaper order a bit and sent the wrong size...but a simple phone call remedied that situation...they delivered the right size within a couple hours and we received a larger box than originally ordered. (I'm assuming that was their way of making up for the mistake) All in all it was pretty painless...I will use them again in the future...this service gives us the flexability to be able to fly with NO checked bags...which can be a big thing when you have connecting flights and need to worry about lost bags...not to mention the charges for checked bags now.
