Garden grocer or UPS??

Hey fellow Okie :wave2: I sent our family a box a couple of years ago. It contained Pop Tarts, beef jerky, pop corn, peanut butter, jelly, Miracle Whip, mustard, laundry soap, and moleskin. Can't rememebr how much it all weighed, but the cost was around $17.00 USPS. I sent it a week before we left, and the day we checked in, they couldn't find it. The second day, it had been found and they delivered it to our room.

Our plan for the trip this year is to send a few things Via Mail due to the price of some Gardengrocer items, but I plan on usiing Gardengrocer for additional things. I will also be checking into Staples for bottled water as I believe they ship direct at no shipping charge.

When will you be in the World? We're going in Sept.:dance3:

Have a great trip:yay:

I was going to use Staples as well, but you have to spend 50 dollars to get the free shipping.

I didn't really need anything else from Staples, so I may as well get my water from Garden Grocer, it wasn't much more anyway.:)

Has anyone tried having deliveries made from Amazon.com? I regularly order diapers and gluten-free snacks from amazon, and would rather have them ship direct to the resort, rather than to me (and then I ship or pack the items).

Are the prices alot higher at Garden Grocer than shopping yourself at the grocery store? If not, how do they make their money? $12 doesn't seem like alot to do someone's shopping and delivery. We'll probably have a $200 order for our 2 week stay at Cypress Harbour, which means no delivery charge, so...how much would you tip? Thanks!!

Does anyone know if its possible to send a package BACK from Disney to your home? I'm just wondering in case I have a few items left over that I sent to myself and any extra items we picked up in our stay? If so, are you able to do it at the front desk of your hotel?

Thanks!

What about if you are on the DDP? Is there anything worth buying that will equal out to the min $50? I was going to send myself individual non-refrigerated snacks like prezels, fig nuetons, etc. Just little things to snack on in between meals. I also bring some along in my carry-on.

We do it every trip! Just go to the front desk or concierge at your resort. They will give you a box too! Just pack it up, bring it back to them, they will give you packing tape and you can choose to use UPS or Fedex to ship it back home! It is so easy.(just make sure you tell them ground shipping, usually the lowest price) they will even charge it to the card you have on file.(if you put a card on file)

We ship a box down to our resort every trip too. We use UPS ground and have never paid more than $20. I send a big box with water, drink boxes, snacks, breakfast items, pool things for the kids, all my toiletries too! I love that I can track it online and see when it arrives and who signed for it. When I check in it is there waiting. Really simple.

I would never have thought about shipping things prior to my vacation. That is what I love about these boards so many great ideas. Thanks everyone!

Does anyone know if you can order beer or wine? Thanks, pam

YES! I called garden grocer and as of last week...."a 24 case of Miller Lite was $19.99 + tax".(yes, kinda pricey but way better than the $9 the resort charges for a 6 pack!!) They said that they don't advertise beer/wine but they will certainly pick it up "as a service to our clients". SHe also told me the way to order it was to add it to the comment section on the check out page on the internet. I will be ordering my goods this week for our trip in

 36 days ! ! ! !

I used Garden Grocer last trip and LOVED it- I think it's a wonderful service and worth it 100%!!!
