Garden Grocer, or any delivery place, and allergies?

We always do a grocery stop on the way from the airport but this trip, my folks are meeting us at the hotel and I don't want them hanging around waiting while we get groceries. I'm thinking about ordering from a grocery delivery place but my main concern is my daughter's peanut allergy. That, and I'm from Canada and we don't have many of the same brands that are found in the US so I don't really know what to order that woudl be safe. Here, I have a general idea what brands I could order that would be peanut free but not so for the US. Does anyone have any expereience with is? Will GG or any other place look at the ingredient list? She's only peanut allergy so here, if it states 'May contain" anything else, its generally safe because thecompany put its mind to the allergy issue and didn't list peanuts in the list or the may contain warning. Do companies in the US have to state if a product may contain peanuts?

Or can anyone list a bunch of safe brands that they know of, primarily for snack food like bagels, english muffins, bread, crackers, snacks like nutrigrain bars, goldfish crackers,... we have something here called Bear Paws ... general snack things with individual wrappers that we can take to the park or snack on the way to the park for breakfast.

I just responded on easywdw but I'll copy here as well for others reading here and also to bump your question up.

I don't have Garden Grocer look over ingredients. I know which name brands I want and order accordingly. My understanding is that they don't substitute for an alternate brand if they can't find the one you purchased, but because they're using a premade list they should be able to find the products you've ordered. That's something that's kept me from trying wegoshop; I worry that they'll substitute. I'd suggest figuring out which brands based on recommendations from others with allergies. I really don't think they will read labels and frankly I only trust people who live with allergies day in, day out to understand the need for caution anyway.

All the brands I used are also free of all sorts of other things so I can't recommend brands for things like bagels and other baked goods. My kids' peanut allergies are also very mild so I really don't worry about cross contamination. We do use Lender's bagels for DD11 (she can eat gluten so we do buy her some regular products) if that helps but keep in mind our level of allergy. We buy her Ritz and Saltenes for crackers. Bread we use store brand from Market Basket (not on the GG list unfortunately). We actually let her eat Poptarts for snacks or breakfast sometimes, especially on vacation. Cheerios are still a favourite of hers for both cereal and just snacking. The new chocolate ones are yummy according to her as are Fruity Pebbles and Cocoa Pebbles. Gummy snacks by Betty Crocker are a very easy snack to toss in a bag as are most candies by Wonka though they're just about the unhealthiest snack you can think of. We also tend to keep Lays chips around for snacks. We also always order fruits, milks and drinks (my kids are fond of Capri Sun drink packs though a bottle of juice works fine in the resort as well).

You will find the "may contain" or "processed in same facility" or "processed on shared lines" on labels here but these are not mandatory labels. I'm like you and feel more comfortable with companies that actually state these kinds of things. The thing about may contain though is you just don't know how much of a likelihood as all they're saying is that they don't include peanut ingredients but you don't know if they just haven't checked with a supplier about their products or if they use shared lines or what so I still think you're better off getting brands from people who live with peanut allergies daily. I wish I had more brands to offer you. I'm sure others will respond with some.
