Has anyone eaten in the Garden Grill lately? I have read mixed reviews over time, and I was wondering if anyone had been there recently. We are thinking about going there for lunch. Thanks! :flower:

Haven't eaten there recently but heard on allearsnet.com that they went back to the old menu and I always loved it when they were serving the old menu before the change.

We ate there a couple of weeks ago. The food was very good. It is back to the old menu. Flank Steak, Turkey, Catfish, Vegetables and cheesy potatoes for the adults. Chicken fingers, french fries, and macaroni and cheese for the little ones. The catfish was very good as was the flank steak. The turkey was OK. The veggies and potatoes were also very good. The character interaction was great.

We just got back.. ate at the Garden Grill on 11/08, and I have to say that food-wise this was the ONLY disappointing meal we had the entire trip. The salad was old looking.. ick. The bread was okay. The hot food was cold, bland, rubbery and generally gross. The character interaction was really good (especially Pluto), but the food was so bad that it soured the experience for us. Just to note, we had an ADR for 5:00 p.m.--so it's not even like we went late, or anything.. so the lack of freshness was disturbing.

Also wanted to note that even my DD wouldn't eat her food, saying that it tasted "icky" and "like microwave food" .. and this is a 7 year old that could eat mac and cheese at every meal for the rest of her life and be THRILLED about it.

Thanks for the responses! Very different experiences. I do not know if we should try it or not...

When we went to WDW in August, it was our favorite character meal out of the 6 we tried. We'll be going back again to the GG in January and May 2006.

We didnt eat a meal here but went to the ice cream social 2 years ago and LOVED it!! Pluto was GREAT! He snuck up on my then (just turned) 5 year old (now almost 7) and scared the bejesus out of her and shes still talking about it to this day. In fact she requested another trip there this year to see her old buddy Pluto. Nothin' like it! :teeth:

Hello:
We're just trying to decide between GG or Akherhus for lunch coming up here in December. Opinions? TIA :goodvibes

We too have an ADR for December for dinner and I thought the menu had pork loin, catfish and flank steak. So do they now have turkey?
I really want the food to taste good since for a family of 4 this is an $80 dinner.
Any more thoughts on this one???
