Garden Grill

We always go to Garden Grill. In our experience, it has the BEST character interaction around! It has never felt rushed and the characters usually make it around more than once. We also enjoy the food. Some compare it to LTT, but I think it's a lot better! :) It's a must do every trip for us!

The food is awesome, my family and I love it, there is turkey, steak and mahi mahi. with mashed potatoes and some rice sort of thing (sorry about the lack of accuracy). the kids menu is chicken drumstick, mac and cheese and sweet potato fries (personal favorite). the food is served family style so comes on a plate and you order more of what you want. Dont be afraid to order more and for steak they are more than willing to cook extra the way you like it. Characters are mickey, pluto, chip and dale. They come round in a pattern alternating between the top and bottom layers. They spend plenty of time and I have found them to be some of the most interactive characters at meals. If you have a late adr they tend to end up coming round at the same time after several interactions which can give you the opportunity for some rare photo opportunities. Once we didn't see any characters for an hour, once mentioning to out CM they were round no problem and someone checked we had seen them all. I highly recommend GG and the food and characters are fantastic

Make a point to eat here every visit since '03, and will take our group of 7 this summer, including 4 first time WDWers

Looking so forward to going this summer!!! Great food, great character interaction, fun times

Garden Grill remains one of our favorite character meals. Food is really good and is served family style. Food is home cooked favorites like mashed potatoes, green beans, and mac and cheese. I really felt the kids ate so much better than just another nugget meal from counter service.

Character interaction is excellent. Mickey, Pluto, and Chip and Dale are all wearing farmer overalls and hats. The restaurant is not that big and they get around to all the tables more than once.

Enjoy!

This is the one place my kids ask for year after year. We have been going there on and off for 10 years and still, they want to go even though the oldest one is 16.

Characters walk around the circular restaurant. We found one complete rotation is enough for dinner and to see all characters.

We really enjoyed it on our last trip and will plan to return again next time. The characters came around 4 times during our meal so lots of interaction. We even had one of the chipmunks peak around the side of the booth to surprise one of the kids. the other two could see what was going on and couldn't help but laugh.

I'm able to ride all the rides at WDW w/o serious motion sickess. There are some (like Space Mountain) that I can only ride once a day. For some reason, when sitting at a booth at Garden Grill, where you are facing out from the center of the restaurant, I got really bad motion sickness. I think if was sitting on the side of the booth, and the front of my body was facing the direction of the motion, it would not have been an issue. Sitting sideways to the motion was bad news, even though it is moving so slowly.

The food was good, and my kids loved Chip and Dale, Farmer Mickey and Pluto, but I had to leave early and wait for them outside.

Love Garden Grill. It's one of our must do TS/cnara ter meals each trip. My family loves the food. Our kids especially love the Mickey Mousse dessert and the baked chicken. some of the best character interactions.

Didn't get to go on this last visit Aug 2011 and I am still hearing about it from DS9. He makes sure whenever he sees me on here, sees the Disney channel, sees an ad or commercial, etc. to remind me to make a Garden Grill reservation this year.

Chip n Dale rock!

We did it for the first time this month. We liked it, a lot. It was VERY different than any other character meal we have done. The food was different but very good. One long platter contained all three meats and the veggies and sides were under the meats. The bread basket had two kinds of bread and one was outstanding. Salad was good too. Kids plate had amazing sweet potato fries. The best part was when the characters are coming around, there are no kids from nearby table getting in the way. The way it is set it the tables are pretty much isolated from each other. Our server was ok, not our favorite but fine. We asked for one or two items and he just wanted to bring us another tray. Easier I guess for him but a waste of food. We had to reorder steak like 3 times for my teen son but he was fine with it and brought it fairly quickly. If you are looking for a quieter way to see the characters its perfect. If you want a loud, fun party type meal, it not the one for you.

This is a must do for us every trip also. We have only been there 3 times and are planning to return this year sometime. It is the best character interaction! Last time we went, the characters spent a lot of time with us and multiple times. It was fun for all. The meal was a family style buffet and there was something for everyone to eat. We are traveling with my brother's family this year and they have never been there. It is the one meal my kids said they wanted their cousins to experience. :thumbsup2

Oh my! I took my elderly mom there several years ago and she swears she got motion sickness. I told her there was no way that was possbile as slow as that restaurant turns, but she insisted she was. Oops, looks like I may own her an apology.:worried:

To OP: we've always received good food and great character interaction there. Until Jedimike, the only person I've ever heard getting motion sickness there is my mom and I honestly thought it was all in her head, because I had told her before we went in, that the restaurant turned really slowly.:rolleyes1

We went there on our last trip. We really liked the atmosphere and the character interaction was great. As far as the food, we weren't necessarily wowed but it was decent. All in all I'd definitely give it a thumbs up. And DS10 considers it a "must do". I'm just disappointed that they don't do lunch anymore :confused3 as we really enjoy a mid day TS lunches at the parks. We're definitely planning on going there on our next trip. Since they don't do lunch anymore we're going to book their first dinner seating at 4p as a late lunch / early dinner.
