My sister plans for us to eat at the garden grill for lunch on march 30th or march 29th.

Any comments on how the food and what the best meals in YOUR opinion are would be helpful, por favor!

We've eaten at the Garden Grill five years in a row and, each time, the food and service was very good. The food is served family style and the servers were more than happy to replinish anything we asked for. The bread with the orange honey butter was soooo good. Love the butter!

The restaurant revolves slowly and you can catch glimpses of a few of the sets in the Living with the Land ride.

The characters, Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale are all there and they are dressed in their farming attire.

The entire meal took us a little over an hour.

We had lunch there in 11/07 and it was one of our favorite meals. It was served family style and the food choices were different and tasty, unlike the typical mac and cheese you get at most places. All the different meats and veggies were delicious and the kids loved making their own sundaes for dessert. The character interaction was great and it wasn't loud at all. It was a nice relaxing meal. I plan on doing this character meal on our next trip.:thumbsup2

It's been my favorite character meal so far. It is much more relaxing & you get plenty of time w/each character. The food is good. I loved the cornbread & potato casserole. It's all you can eat w/o having to get up to go to a buffet table. I would go again!

We ate there on our trip in January. DH and I really enjoyed the food & DS loved the character attention. Chip cuddled with him on the floor right beside the table. It's much quieter than most character meals, probably because of the highbacked booth setup. Not only can you not see the characters coming (at least on the bottom level), which keeps the kids from getting too wild, the noise of any hyped-up little ones is more muffled.

We ate there in Oct for DD's Birthday dinner. It was great. The family style food for Dh, chicken strips for DD and they made me a vegetarian dish. (The potatoes on the platter are awesome by the way. So are the rolls and spread!) We didnt have dessert since we had a cake but I assumed it would be good dessert also. It was a nice relaxing meal with the high booths and character time.

Chip came by and wrote several pages in DD's autograph book about dale. It was so funny, dD was laughing so hard and she still talks about it. It was all about how Dale stinks but not as bad as Donald, and Chip is better than both of them. Hands down the best character interaction we have had at a TS.

We have been going every time we go to WDW. Good food and great character interaction:

One time Dale proposed on his knee to my wife and told her to dump me.

One time Chip and Dale banged on trays like drums with my kids and they all danced until Mickey came and told them to knock it off :lmao:

One of our favorites.

We ate there June of last year and it was fun. The food was ok but the character interaction was great. I wasn't crazy about all the noise though. It made it hard to hold a conversation. From what I remember, we had fried catfish, steak and turkey w/ potatoes, bread and veggies. For dessert was a pastry and fresh berries. It was fun but I think I prefer CP but I would go back if given the chance.

We just ate there for dinner on Sunday, 3/2/08. We had a great time. The food and the characters were great!! We will definitely be back.

We have an ADR to eat there around that time also. I wish I had made the ADR for lunch instead of dinner since dinner is $8 more a person instead of $5. Any way I am still looking forward to it cause we always enjoy joking around with Chip and Dale. They are so much fun!

I just ate there a couple of nights ago. It was really good, I liked it a lot. They served us an apple crisp type thing for dessert.

The rotating thing was kind of making me dizzy at first, but I think it's just because I was tired and really hungry, a little after the food came I was fine.

I've been twice, once for lunch and once for dinner.
The food was great both times but the character interaction was some of the best we've had anywhere in WDW. My son loves the Garden Grill.:thumbsup2

The characters @ GG are phenomenal! The food is decent--I liked the catfish a lot and the veggies (especailly the potatoes) are nicely done and our server was very attentive with drink and food refills. Be sure to ask for seating in the lower tier--you can see the scenery so much better there. Say "Hi" to Chip and Dale from me:goodvibes

Do we ask for this when making ADRs or when you check in at the restaurant? Thanks!!!

I have the same question.
Truthfully, we don't care where we sit for lunch when all we are doing is eating.
:confused3

Ask for lower tier seating when you check in with the host/hostess. You can mention it when you make your ADR; however, I don't know if that can be flagged on your ressie.:wizard:

We loved it there - it was one of our favourite meals. The kids loved the characters, they interacted so much with them as compared to our other character meals. We had lunch there.
I definitely recommend the lower tier. for us with two little ones it is much more then just eating lunch. they were entertained by the scenery between character visits. And why not sit somewhere with a view instead of just in the middle??

Oh and we were chosen family of the day which made it even more special :)

Did dinner there last Friday night... food & service was very good... DD5 had a great time keeping Pluto, Chip & Dale from trying to steal her make-your-own cupcake.

The age difference is funny - my DDs had no idea what they were doing when they pretended to steal the food... the girls would just look at us in confusion whenever they did that. We had a packet of wipes though and one of the chipmunks took some wipes out and wiped the kids' faces. that was cute.

We are going in Septemeber and my ds really wants to eat her because of the whole rotating thing. I didn't even know it was a character dinner. Are there specific times for the character dinners or do they come out the whole time dinner is served? I have to make my ADR's next week and was planning for here anyway but this may change the plans I had for a different character meal.
