We are going in Sept. and taking advantage of free dining! We book just a couple of weeks ago and the ADR for character dining was pretty limited. We had really wanted Chef Mickey's for dinner or another character dining that had Mickey and the gang. So, we went with Garden Grill as it was the ONLY thing available during our trip for dinner.

What are your thoughts on this restaurant?

We enjoyed the food when we ate there and we thought the character interaction was fabulous. The characters seem to spend more time with each table here than other character meals and in fact each character came by our table twice during our meal. The only hesitation I'd have about eating here again is that fixed price restaurants are expensive when you've got all Disney Adults (10+ years old).

The menu is much more limitted than other restaurants. The biggest complaint I seem to read about GG is that people don't like the type of food. Make sure it's the type of food everybody in your family will enjoy.

You won't get the whole gang. You'll get Mickey, Pluto, Chip & Dale.

We love GG and make an ADR each trip! (in fact, its sometimes hard to get....so lucky you!!)
The food at GG is quite good. Its served family style with the kids getting one platter and the adults another (although you can share anything). My kids always like the mac & cheese, chicken drumsticks and beef that they serve and we always end up asking for more.
The characters are great and they usually make it around twice during your meal. They are very friendly!

I hope you enjoy your meal there. We have never been disappointed! :thumbsup2

The character interaction is awesome. They typically come and sit down at your table (assuming there is room) and will hug your kids and "chat" with them for a while. Not really chat, since they can't talk. But they do lots of hand gestures and fool around. They are not as rushed here.

The food is served family style and is a meat and potatoes kind of meal. Very delicious.

We love Garden Grill. Character interaction is really good and the turning restaurant/changing view adds some extra fun. As long as there is something on the (limited) menu you like, the food is good. I especially appreciate that the meal is served family style. That can be a lot more relaxing when traveling with small(er) children, especially at a character meal where you always have to look out so as not to miss a character when he comes around.

My DH and I were recently married at Disney, and we took his mom here for dinner one night during our stay. It was her pick, and I had very low expectations for this meal. I ended up LOVING it!

As others have said, the character interaction is fantastic. We, too, had the characters come around twice. We got lots of cute pics of DH's mom getting kisses from them.

I really enjoyed the food. Again, it is family style and there's no choice, so just make sure you like what is being served. We all enjoyed the food, especially the turkey and mashed potatoes; in fact, we had seconds of that brought out.

I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

O yay! So glad to hear so many great things about GG!!! We can't wait to see how our 2.5 reacts to the experience :goodvibes He LOVES the whole gang...but also LOVES Chip n Dale...so this works out well. It was hard talking my husband into doing a character dining experience, but I think once he sees our son's reaction it will be allll worth it! Plus it's free so even better! :cool1:

we were just there last week ..it was great!! We do not eat seafood so asked for no fish and they were very acommodating with seconds and modifying...
we really loved the salad....got about 3 servings!!
The character interaction was the best!!

We had a great time at GG and can't wait to go again this trip. :)

The characters were very interactive and my kiddos loved it.
