If you had 3 days at Epcot, and were already planning on eating 2 of your 3 dinners in the WS (Chefs de France and then Biergarten), would you do the third one at Garden Grill? Our boys love Mickey and this is one of few restaurants that has Mickey. We did Chef Mickey's breakfast on our last trip and we all enjoyed it but we were thinking of trying the dinner next time. However, if we have 3 days at Epcot instead of 2 (with the ticket deal from UT, extra day at no additional cost with a 6-day ticket), that is another dinner we can enjoy at Epcot and we are strongly considering Garden Grill.

So which is better for dinner, Garden Grill or Chef Mickey's? Like I said, we LOVED the breakfast at CM but I have heard mixed things about the food for dinner.

Garden Grill is wonderful for dinner! My girls love it...it's so much smaller than CM's so in my opinion, you get much more character interaction. The food is great, the wine selection is awesome too.

I would go with Chef Mickey's because as you said your planning to spend 3 days at Epcot, so it might be good to change things around. Besides that my family and I have had dinner a few times at Chef Mickey's and thought it was not bad.

We ate at Garden Grill last weekend. The food was really good and I liked that it's served family style vs. buffet. The character interaction can't be beat! Each character came to our table at least 3 times. We really enjoyed it!

The family-style dining rather than buffet definitely makes GG appealing! We loved the family-style dinner at LTT in MK back in July since we got to stay at the table and relax as they brought us the food. I suppose we could also do Chef Mickey's for breakfast once again since we enjoyed the characters and the food there. We'll see. I do know we will definitely be doing Cape May Cafe character breakfast on our next trip as our last morning's meal since it is right across the lake from BWV!

If you are eating in Epcot I'd work Coral Reef into the plans.

So I'd probably do Coral Reef and Chef Mickey's.

This is a good suggestion, thanks! I did consider Coral Reef since I've read great things about it. We shall see! How good is this restaurant for 2 small children (they will be 3 and 5 when we go)?

Its a great place to take the little ones. The tank is awesome as is the activity sheet they give the kids. We did it for lunch, something that might also be good for you since you are spending the entire day at the park. It was a great way for us to get recharged. We also loved our food and our 5/6yo loved his cheese pizza meal. We took our time over the meal and didn't feel rushed.

Garden Grill is one of our new favorites and will not miss it for any future trips. As a PP said, the character interaction can't be beat - in fact if it weren't for Chip, my dd would have never tried the catfish! Chip spent a good 10 minutes with us trying to get her to eat it. In the end she did and loved it. You can't get that at Chef Mickeys! All the characters came by 3-4 times and spent alot of time at the table. The food was fantastic too! The only thing I didn't like was the dessert - it could have done without the caramel sauce. Too sweet for 1/2 of us. I think the next time we will ask for the apple cobbler w/o the sauce.

GG...We loved the family-style serving...We thought the food was fresh and good...Server was very good...Character interaction was excellent!

Another one for Garden Grill :thumbsup2 My kids, DD18 & DS12 weren't too keen on going but ended up having a blast! My DD was nearly in tears laughing so hard with Chip & Dale.

Definitely another vote for Garden Grill. The food is fresh and I don't feel so heavy after eating there.

Another vote here for Garden Grill :thumbsup2 , food was pretty basic but the character interaction was fantastic. We got lots of great pics, Chip & Dale made such a fuss over my df as they found out they were his fav characters. The revolving elemant is fun too, was nt very noisy either. All in all we had a good time there!!!:)

We ate at Chef Mickeys & all im gonna say is that we wont be going back when we visit for our wedding in may :sad2:

Everyone here keeps saying great things about the character interaction, but much of it is focused on Chip & Dale. While all 4 of us LOVE them, we are also looking for our children to enjoy a meal with Mickey. Is he always at Garden Grill, at least as of now? My boys LOVE Mickey, especially my little one! And what's a trip to WDW without a meal with Mickey?! For this reason I am thinking we should do the dinner at Garden Grill and still include a breakfast again at Chef Mickey's. Thoughts?

Yes, Mickey is "scheduled" at the GG...We have been twice...Both times it was Mickey, Pluto, Chip & Dale.

Yes Mickey is there :thumbsup2 . In all honesty go with your gut feeling, what some people may like/love others may not only you can judge how you find it. Before we flew out i had read nothing but great reviews about Chef Mickeys, so of course we went. However we did nt have a good time there :sad2: but im sure most people would say they loved it. It all depends on the time you eat as well, sometimes if you ve booked one of the last sittings the characters rush round a bit more so you dont necessarily get the same amount of interaction as earlier sittings.
If you cant decide then go with them both, at least that way you ll experience both & know for future trips :thumbsup2

I may be wrong on this...but I thought that I heard that Garden Grill wasn't going to offer character dining anymore. Am I wrong on this??????? We have done both Garden Grill and Chef Mickey's. I love both, however I love the atmosphere at Chef Mickey's. It feels more like a party. Also, when my kids were little, they loved to go up and make their own dessert. They could pile anything they wanted on the ice cream.:thumbsup2 They loved twirling the napkin in the air too! It is such a fun time for little ones.

Garden Grill is still a character dinner. They just stopped doing lunch.
