Garden Grill or Chef Mickey's dinner?

We were just at Disney this month and had never tried Garden Grill until then! I have to say I thought it was great! My kids loved all of the characters. They spent a lot of time with the kids and really played around with them. There was Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale. The food was good and fresh, much better than the buffets. I would highly recommend, and I would not miss it for another trip!

Garden Grill - quiet, good food, less germs (no one coughing on buffet food), nice views of the Land ride, the characaters interact with each table. CM servers very polite, kids can get more than one kid platter - chicken fingers, mac & cheese, french fries. Adults can get more of anything on their platter and both kids and adults can share platters.

We love GG. Chef Mickey's has it's pluses - but it is more rushed and noisey. We prefer GG.

GG:
Typical Characters: Mickey, Pluto, Chip 'n' Dale

ADULT Family Style Platter featuring:
Oatmeal Cluster Rolls
Green House Salad with Buttermilk Ranch Dressing (can ask for no dressing)
Grilled Flank Steak with Mushroom Cabernet sauce
Rotisserie Turkey Bresat with Cranberry Relish
Southern Fried Catfish (can onit if no fried food is liked)
Cornbread Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, Baby Carrots & Broccolini
Warm Apple Bread Pudding with Caramel & Whipped Cream

Young Gardener's Menu - Ages 3 to 9 (but any age kids can order it)
Choice of:
Chicken Strips
Macaroni and Cheese
Potatoes or French Fries
Fresh Vegetables
Served with a special dessert

:goodvibes Our kids ordered the chicken, mac & cheese and french fries - all 3 items and got all 3 items. They also ate some of our turkey and steak. We has some of their mac & cheese and french fries. :goodvibes

IF you take a child under 3 and dont have to pay for them, do they have to eat what the adults eat or will they give them the childs entree

We ate at Garden Grill on December 12th and found out that the mechanism that rotated the restaurant broke around Thankgiving. It is suppossed to be fixed by mid January. Despite that we thought that the food, service, and characters were all great and it is very quiet. Thae characters were Chip, Dale, Pluto, and Mickey.

GG was the worst food we had at WDW, but had the best character interaction, and the fact that Mickey was there was a plus. The food was fresh, I suppose, but it was pretty horrible. CM was a close second for the character interaction when we went there for breakfast.

Overall, though, I think CM is a "must do." GG rates only a "maybe worth doing once" for the characters and the unique rotating floor.

If you do go, insist on sittling in the lower tier. It's closer to the action as you drift by The Land.

Someone commented that GG isn't rotating right now. This has come up several times in the recent past, even before Thanksgiving. So don't assume the restaurant will be rotating to add to your visit.

Good luck with your decision.
