Garden Grill in September...

Anyone else not able to get anything earlier then 6:30pm for The Garden Grill starting around September 12?

We called on the 180 day mark and couldn't get anything earlier for either day we wanted to go.

I am hoping it is because they seem to release the earlier times later on (we noticed this with some others places in the past).

I just can't believe it was that booked up that fast earlier on.

Guess I will keep checking.

I tried to book Garden Grill for the last week of September and the whole week was booked!! I am really hoping for some cancellations. That was my DD first choice.

I got 5:15 on 9/7 and this was just a few days ago. It was slim pickings though.

We have that problem too. We are a party of 5. We are going on Sept 16. Originally the earliest we could get was 6:40. Somebody must have canceled because a day or two ago I got 6:30 (really want 4:30 to 5 or so). I cancelled my 6:40. I've been still checking to see if I can get the time I want. Someone has snapped up our original 6:40. I've never had this problem with Garden Grill before and don't usually do my ADR's this far out at 180 days. Maybe it's getting more popular?

I wasn't able to get anything earlier than 6:30 on 9/18, but that was the time we wanted so it worked out for us.

I was able to get 5:55 on 9/4 a few days after our 180 window opened but still before the window opened on 9/4 due to the plus 10. I had no idea it was so hard to get an ADR there! We just decided after making our ADRs that we wanted to change some around and this was one place we have never been so I gave it try. Glad I was able to get it!

I have a 6:45pm for the 26th. It's a good time for us thankfully.

Ohana is the problem ADR for us. I wanted 6pm (or 5:45). Couldn't get that on our 180 date. I have a 6:25pm instead. Trying every day to see if I can get something closer.

Yesterday was my 180 mark. Garden Grill was completely booked and I was online at 6am. I'm checking back every day...multiple times a day trying to find an opening. I booked La Hacienda in the meantime.

On our September ADR Lists, Garden Grill is NOT one of the most popular restaurants, & I'm thinking that we DIS-ers represent a good cross-section of the general population. (In EPCOT, Le Cellier, Coral Reef, Akershus, Chefs de France are all more popular.)

So, if that's case, why is Garden Grill suddenly so impossible to get?

Is it because it's just dinner?

I don't know... When I called, the castmember w/ whom I spoke was confused too as to why Garden Grill had such limited availability.

I could only get Garden Grill for two (me and my daughter) instead of for the whole family of five, for the last week in September. Disappointing.... It is traditionally free dining month, is it booked up because of that? The comment earlier about dinner is because they only serve dinner at GG. They used to have lunches but discontinued some years back.

Garden Grill is only open for dinner now. It use to be open for lunch and dinner.

I just got Garden Grill on 10/1 at 6:35. Wanted 6:30 I am thrilled. When did GG get so popular

I made my ADRs this morning and the only time I could get for GG on the day we wanted (9/29) was 7:45pm.

I haven't been able to.

Anyway, I just checked, and there is a 6:45 pm ADR on 9/12 currently available if anyone's interested.

There hasn't been anything at all available for the past several days, so I was kinda shocked when the 6:45 showed up!

Was looking for 9/18 or 9/20 earlier then the 6:30pm I have.

I was hoping for a 4:30 or 5:00.

With a 3 year old and 2 year old we eat early as we eat between 5 and 6 at home. I got my other ones at 5pm easily including Cape May and Ohana'.

Even the reservation person was surprised.

I am hoping they just held back the times and will open them later on.

I'm sorry you haven't been able to get anything earlier!

I've been looking for something earlier also - due to DH's work schedule, our kids are used to eating around 7:00 pm, but we normally eat a later lunch too. At Disney, we're eating earlier breakfasts & lunches, so I like to keep our dinners between 5:00 & 6:00 pm too. Plus, the wait times aren't as bad earlier in the evening.

I'm also hoping some earlier times will be released too...
