Hi, has anyone been to the garden grill in epcot for dinner recently? any reviews? tia

We ate there this summer. The batch of fish we had was actually very good, and the rest of the food was pretty decent.

I find most character meal locations to have pretty average food in general. We are never there for the food, but for the character experience. If we get a decent meal, then all is fine with us. Chip and Dale are my DD6's favorites so this is a must do for our family. :)

We were there a few weeks ago. We really enjoyed our food and the characters. It is on our to go again list.

Thanks, everyone. how would you rate the character interaction? which characters were there? anyone have a preference for seating on the "inside" or the rotating outside of the restaurant? tia

Garden Grill is our FAVORITE restaurant.. we love the food especially since they added roasted chicken instead of the turkey.
Character interaction has always been excellent for us. I like sitting on the lower level because I can see the things going by better.

Although each person's experience will vary, the character interaction we had there was the best of any character meal we have ever been to. Chip and Dale were just amazing with my DD6!!

She had Chip and Dale ponytail holders on and Dale took her around the restaurant with him showing her off to the other guests, making sure they saw what she was wearing in her hair. They danced with her and came back to our table several times.

They also talked one man into jogging around the restaurant after implying in pantomime that he had eaten too much. They really spent quality time with each table I saw them with. :)

We ate there in August.
The character interaction was truly fabulous. Probably the best of any character meal we have ever done.
The food was icky, so we won't go back!

We ate there in Oct & lets put it this way i think we d of left quite dissapointed if it was nt for the characters:rolleyes: . Chip & Dale truely made it especially for my df who loves them :lovestruc , they spotted his lanyard which is full of Chip & Dale pins so they made a massive fuss over him. The food was nt brilliant & we did nt receive great service either. We had a much better time at LTT in comparison :thumbsup2, eating at a revolving restaurant is definatly a fun experience though. We wont be eating there when we go back in May but am glad we tried it just so my df got some fuss from his fav characters

My DBF insists on this restaurant for every trip. Its only the two of us usually so the characters just pose for a quick picture and we go back to our delicious food. However, we've seen the characters with other children and they seem to really take their time with them if the kids are into it. We're taking DBF's niece on this next trip and are really looking forward to taking her to Garden Grill!

thanks for all your replies! does anyone know if minnie and mickey are there?

We were there less than a month ago and Mickey was there in his farmer's outfit. Chip and Dale and Pluto were also there. Pluto was a real cutup and the character interaction was fun.

The food was okay - we had turkey with cranberry sauce, beef, catfish (which I didn't try), carrots, mashed potatoes, broccolini, rolls, salad, dressing, and apple bread pudding (yum!). DD6 had chicken nuggets, fries and a cupcake to decorate.

I'm glad we did it and the character interaction was fun, but Epcot has so many awesome restaurants that next time I think we'll go back to some old favorites or try something new (maybe we'll finally try Le Cellier!).

When did they add roasted chicken instead of turkey? I'd LOVE that, but all the menus I'm looking at still say turkey.

sounds great! We are planning on taking 3 five yr olds there in 3 weeks. Can't wait!

We went in Sept. and was not a good experience, except for the characters. The waitress was not very friendly,or efficient, and the catfish(which is why we really went there) was more peppery than a jalapeno in the eyeball!!!! We were extremely disappointed, and will not be going back!!! The rest of the food was just BLAH.

We went April '07 and it was great! Chip and Dale are a riot. The food wasn't the best but the interaction was stellar.

We just went TWICE last week. It was my boys favorite meal ever!

The character interaction is the best, the food is average.

We do character meals for the kids, as long as their happy, we're happy. To us, it's really not about the food. Seeing my kids play with Chip and Dale, give kisses to Pluto and huge hugs to Mickey is priceless.

The restaurant spinning is a huge bonus, they loved that part!

We ate at Garden Grill this past Thursday night. I thought the food was good, not the most outstanding but tasty. The salad was good and the tomatoes are from the greenhouses in Epcot. The catfish tasted better than it looked as did the turkey. The beef and dressing were good. The meal was also served with rolls, broccoli and carrots. For dessert, it was warm apple bread pudding which was good. The food platter looks small but for us it ended up being just enough. My DH asked for more catfish but only ate one or two more pieces. My DD is only 2 but the server brought out a kid's plate for her anyway. It had chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese and french fries (I think). For dessert, she got her own cupcake to decorate.

The character interaction was great. We saw the characters twice and they were the most playful of any of the characters we had met that week. It was Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale. We ate on the lower level and we had a great view of the Land. You can see the same scenery if you ride Living with the Land boat ride.

I would do it again for the character interaction and the tomatoes! The tomatoes were really good! :)
