Garden Grill Breakfast and Soarin' RD Advantage?

Trying to make the most strategic decisions for RD at Epcot w/ Soarin' and possibly Frozen opening in June.

We've been meaning to give Garden Grill a go any who for breakfast, so wondering if an 8:05 reservation at GG might give us a better vantage point for Soarin' (assuming we eat fast). Thinking we *may* not need to use up our Tier 1 on Soarin' if we are already in the building at RD and may save it for TT or Frozen.

Thoughts from anyone that has had an early reservation at GG?

Thanks!

Sure,if you don't mind "rushing" through your meal.

I would be downstairs at Soarin' by 8:45 AM just in case they let the Maingate/International Gateway Guests in a little early.

We ate at GG a few weeks ago for a pre-park ADR. We had an 8:05. We were the first through the back entrance gate and we did not finish our breakfast until just after 9 am. It is not like BOG where you can just eat really fast and be done with it. It is table service so you have to wait for food and drinks to be delivered and you will probably want to wait for all the characters to come by. You will have to wait for your server to bring the bill and then wait for them to complete it. You may even have to wait to be seated when you first arrive. You will have an advantage over those who arrive at the Epcot Gate by 9 or so, but there will be a lot of people in front of you who arrive at the Epcot Gate by 8:30. You may still hit relatively short lines that early, but realize that the meal may take an hour or more. You might be able to rush your server to bring food as quickly as possible, but that is a lot of money to spend on breakfast to rush it.

The breakfast is excellent, by the way. We really enjoyed it.

Kids are older and don't fuss a lot about characters anymore, but that said, we (meaning ME..lol) don't want to miss out either. We had tried dinner reservations at GG once and waited FOREVER to be called to our seats... An hour past the scheduled reservation, we finally gave up and ate at Sunshine Terrace. I think that was a fluke though, but ever since we have been leery about trying GG again when on a FP induced time-budget. I'm thinking that maybe a later morning reservation after all the rushing may be better :)

We always do well with 8:00 CP reservations in MK... Usually eat, lounge, see characters & pay just before RD. Since we have never tried this strategy at Epcot before, wanted to check with those that have.

Thanks!!!

Caution.
It is getting less and less likely that a pre-opening ADR is a solid plan to "get a jump on"
rope drop.

We did an 8 a.m. breakfast at GG in December. The goal was not to get to Soarin' early, because we had a FP for later. But we ate our fill and met all the characters multiple times and were done by about 8:45. We were able to ride Soarin' once before the park opened.
