Garden Grill at DCA

Hi,

I was there last Tuesday through Friday and the signs were up saying it was closed ( thought it was temporary so went to the Pizza place next door ( not as good) .

I did notice both in DL and DCA some restaurants and carts were closing significantly earlier than park closing ( ie even closed at 630pm ) with resulting longer queues at the remaining open ones.

I read that too, and wasn't sure if it was true. We tried it once, and loved it and we are bummed that it is gone!

Hi,

We used to like the pizza place until they changed the pizza. I wonder if closing the Garden Grill is part of their continuing lower food quality. C'mon Disney, bring back the fried tomato sandwich and the flat bread pizzas and all the other good stuff you have removed for yucky burgers and bad pizza.

This is disappointing. I liked that place. I still miss the old Flo's menu too.

Honestly, I had their gyro and it was the worst gyro I've ever had...and it wasn't even close. But I see all these closures as part of ThanksShanghai. With a visit planned at the end of this year, I'm hoping all these budget cuts disappear by summer at least. It's bad enough there's no trains, boats, islands, Big Thunder Ranch BBQ, or F!. But shutting down restaurants....bad form.

NOOOOO!!! BOO is right!! that was my first thought. now there is very little left at DCA for good eats! LOVED THAT PLACE!!

Oh man! I loved that place. The greek salad with a chicken skewer was my go-to semi-healthy lunch.

I'm so disappointed :( I really enjoyed Paradise Garden. The food seemed to be so fresh and I felt like i was eating something kind of healthy ( we are at the parks for 10 days so can't survive that long on just fried food lol ).

Plus I liked the seating area. You could always get a table and it had some nice shaded areas. You almost felt like you were hidden away.

I suspect we'll be seeing something else go in that location.
I don't see Disney leaving it closed and empty.

Unfortunately just as the trend at Disneyland/DCA a few years back was to start adding more unique dining items, the trend right now appears to be removing them and homogenizing the menus a bit. While there are still many more choices than standard burgers and pizza in the parks, I do feel there has been a narrowing of the options. It seems like many have been lamenting lost favorites over the last 6-12 months. I guess we send our comments to Disney and hope the pendulum swings in the other direction again sooner rather than later. I suspect we are going to see these cost-cutting measures though for another 12-24 months as Star Wars construction continues and the Shanghai park opens and finds its footing.
