Are non-military personnel able to visit this restaurant?

If any DISers have been, I would appreciate comments on whether they liked it.

I think you can, if you can get on to SoG. It's a DoD military facility, so you need an ID or a pass (may require a sponsor, and that can change based on threat level).

Are you meeting people there, or do you just want to eat there? Because if it's the latter, then don't bother. There are much better places to eat at DW. It's not terrible, and if we are staying at SoG, we definitely eat there once or twice for a cheap meal and because it's easy. But I'd never seek it out, lol.

You will need to show your military id to get on the grounds. The food was disgusting when we ate there and the food at the Disney restaurant is of much higher quality.

We are staying at Shades and have stayed there in the past. We always eat there for breakfast, and it is good. I, like the other poster stated, would never "seek it out" if we weren't there, though!
But, a good value for breakfast before heading to the parks early. We also hit their buffet or Italian for dinner once or twice, just because we have little ones and it's convenient, not for the great food.:rotfl:

:thumbsup2 I agree. I don't understand how it is "disgusting" personally. It's not fabulous, that's for sure, but you can make your own waffles, and they have cottage cheese and stuff. How is that disgusting? I think my ideas of disgusting are skewed, though, because I have seen pictures of what dh ate when he was in Singapore (I don't care for soup with whole fish heads in it, just not my thing :rotfl: ), and I've tasted MRE's before. That's disgusting. SoG food is very "meh." It's cheap, convenient, and gets the job done. But I wouldn't go to SoG just to get it, and we prefer to eat in the parks as well.
