Wow! Some of these I've never heard of---I must have missed out on a lot. I loved to play Clue, Hide and Seek, Marco Polo.

Ok, I know the others, but what are these?? Sounds interesting!!

Hot Peas and Butter is a hiding game. The person that's "it" hides an item then yells "hot peas and butter come get your supper!" Everyone tried to find the item. If you’re close the person who is it will say you're warm, hot steaming... If you're not near the item the person will say you're cold, freezing...The first person to find the item is it.

If you've even seen Spike Lee's movie, Crooklyn, the kids on the block are playing this game when the movie first starts.

Flies Up is a catch game. The thrower throws a small rubber ball against a wall or stoop. Everyone has to try to catch the ball before it bounces. The person that catches it is the new thrower.

Outdoors:
Kick ball, Red-light/Green-light, TV Tag. We also played something called Squeeze the Lemon. This was where you went down the sliding board sitting sideways and you see how many kids can go down without knocking the kids at the bottom to the ground. It was a weird game, so maybe it was just in our neighborhood.

Indoors:
Parchesi, Monopoly, and Scrabble.
