Hi everyone! :) MickeysMusic has an idea for a game room, that includes me helping her. A few of you have already played her game today, but it was only open for a short time. It started out as a fun game for her friends, but quickly turned into a game for everyone. We encountered a few problems though...

1. We couldn't get people to stay seated once they entered the room
2. It took too long to type out the instructions, so people got bored and got up off their seats and walked around saying, "What do we do?" even though the instructions were in the description
3. MickeysMusic and I dc at around the same time, since we're in the same house. If there is a line for her room, how can we both get back in?

If we can solve those issues, we might be able to get her game room running again. Right now, it is just too stressful for her to keep it going. :)

Thanks for any advice!!

1. Say, "Please stay seated". Or you could just put ropes round them.

2. Tell the people to read the information. (ex) "Please read the info located by the i on your tool bar" (Use VMK Pal's typer or short keys. See the players guide for those)

3. It's Mickeys own room, so she can get in, but I don't think you can do anything but wait.Try having a mule prepared in that room (remember to make it wave) You could also have mickey tell people to re enter.

If you had a picture, I could do better.

Hi Days and Monkey!

To answer your 2nd question 1st - Sadly, I do not believe there is a way for us to "Fast Pass" our way through a line in our own room. I once missed a closing in my own room due to this - a line had formed and I was in it. The only thing I can think of since there are two of you is to sign on 15 minutes (or so) apart from each other. This would hopefully set you dc timers apart.

As for people staying seated - I have not seen the room set-up, but could you use everest track so they are not in seats, but ride cars then use a border of some sort. Like wise, you could use lanterns (little yellow / green ones) in front of the chairs to keep people seated.

Just a few thoughts, maybe one will help! :)

I have not seen SuperGlue in the Emporium just yet.......

Ok, I know that you're not supposed to use ShortKeys, but it saved my
game room sanity. ShortKeysLite is a macro scripting program so you can
type things over and over by pressing a shortcut key. If you have various
rules laid out in ShortKeys, (and to be sure NOT to incur the Typing Time
Out), people will be able to understand the rules faster. Just don't use
the ShortKeys to type in game codes, or you'll get banned. I think they
are more lenient when they see ShortKeys used in games.

I also suggest:

Establish a ride queue with turnstile. Keeps players from running rampant
in your game room. If you start telling the rules BEFORE they sit in the
chairs, even better. If you notice, Host Rooms have used river, Everest and
slide pieces to keep people in line better.

Have a "back door" for those pesky dc's. I made sure that when I did my
games, I had access to a back way into my room. I used a Monster door
to my Host area, linked to another one of my rooms for easy access.

If you have any other questions, post 'em here!

I have helped my friend with his games and I had a back door entrance to the game rooms. Also, being in the same house should not cause you to dc at the same time. Try to stagger the times you log in to play and keep an eye on the time (20 - 30 minutes) and make an effort to beat the dc with a refresh (F5). Also, if you have not already, use a teleporter (connected to another room of hers) to help make them exit the game floor quickly. Beats waiting for them to leave the room.

Good Luck and do not stress. Cannot wait to try the game.

Well, she does has a teleporter for players to exit, and this room would also be used for her to get back in. :) Unfortunately, if there is a wait for her room, I would not be able to get back in, since it isn't my room. :( And also, we do happen to dc at the same time..if we login close to each other, it's one and then the other. If I get dc, I still cannot enter her room via teleporter since the room might be full...isn't this true? I just don't see how this idea would be possible to continue... I don't know if she is ready to try it on her own just yet, although she could really do the game without me. :(

what if you helped her with the game from home like told her how to do it and what to do if something was bugging her etc

I am helping her from home...I'm sitting right next to her. ;) But she needs to be able to give instructions and answer whether their questions once the game has begun. For those of you who have played the game, you know she cannot do it alone or the answer will be given away. ;)
