Game of Thrones - Season 8 - NO SPOILERS PLEASE

Since the Night King didn't die in the dragon fire...is he a Targaryen??

The consensus is no. Targaryens didn't come to Westeros until about 300ish years ago, while the Night King was created by the Children of the Forest from some random dude like 10,000 years ago.

It seems like the extreme Ice of being a Night King cancels out extreme Fire from a Dragon.

That's what I had wondered. The fire didn't kill let alone phase him, so he had to be Targaryen. At least in my mind. Either that or hold some power that makes him fire proof. Yet dragon glass could kill him. So who knows.

For the many of us who have mentioned the general darkness of the filming, below is a brightened up and slowed down clip of the dragon fight. It's quite remarkable! (I hope the link works.)

Thanks for posting the video. It is nice to actually see what it looked like a bit better.

Thanks. I had actually managed to work out that possibility myself.

If he's not the real Aegon Targaryen but people start to believe he is it could cause fractures and splintering of support amongst various claims for the throne, changing the dynamics of the fight -- possibly at very interesting moments of time.
OK, so I studied up on it a little and I'm going to say at best, he's an imposter who could complicate things. I highly doubt that storyline could be introduced and developed with so little time left in the tv series, but it's possible for the books. And lastly, why on earth would Rhaegar Targaryan name two different sons Aegon? (One born of Elia and the other of Lyanna.)

Honestly just think this was a silly decision by the show writers. Rhaegar was already dead when Jon was born.

I’d be happy if Sansa and Tyrion got together in the end. I just don’t see any chemistry between them.

While I agree with that to a point, I do think that they do have some chemistry, their characters do play off each other quite well, and I think that they show that they really care about each other... she always defends him, except with him being the hand of the queen of dragons.... and he has always defended her.... I think that there could be a twist here for Tyrion, maybe he will choose Sansa over the Daenarys, thus the betrayal for love... With family being the most important thing to both of them... I could see them ruling together or at least him supporting her as Queen... as well as Jon as King...at some point things are going to go sideways... and there will be picking sides for sure... with only 3 more episodes I think we will see some things shifting, in episode 4, then the twist will hit in episode 5 and basically determine episode 6 and the end of the story telling... In which I think that Sam is telling the story or reading the story...

I am not 100% on this, something about a prophecy about him having 3 kids and all, and one must be named Ageon... something in the books.... I would think that he would have told Lyanna what to name the baby if it was a boy... because he was going off to war...

I mean, I see friendship chemistry. Sansa just isn't attracted to Tyrion at all, at least not physically.

Agreed, In the Game of Thrones world... marriage is not really about love...it was about solidifying family houses, and for more power, women were used as pawns to make alliances. Plus daughters really did not have a say in who they would marry...

Fair but it's yet to be seen how much power Tyrion has OR will have. Also, Sansa isn't the typical female. She pretty much answers to nobody at this point so she can pick her own mate, based on her own criteria, when she's good and ready.

At that point Rhaegar already had a son named Aegon, who was one of Elia Martell’s children.

If Sansa thinks that it is a good alliance to keep Tyrion close, she will. It doesn't have to be a marriage. He can be the hand of the king or queen, for that matter. She will have a strong say if Dany perishes and Jon ascends to the throne. Jon might think that Tyrion's alliances were only with Dany and Sansa can convince him to give Tyrion a position of power because he is loyal to her, and as a result of that, to Jon.

We will have to wait and see. I don't see Dany or Jon ascending to the throne. At least one of them almost certainly dies in the next 3 episodes.

I completely agree. It could be Sansa, and she will need a hand of the queen.

The next few weeks will be interesting.

Let’s remember that Sansa doesn’t seem to care much who takes the Iron Throne. Her priority is ruling the North and not having it come under anyone’s authority. She will likely have some “thoughts on the matter” of Jon not actually being a Stark, which is the only reason she’s supporting him as King in the North right now.
