hi , how is going . I had my gallbladder removed 1 year ago , I got diarrhoea every day specially first meal or in morning , please any recommends for a good tablet to take !!

I really hate that my life is disaster :worried:

how has any experience with that ??

thanks xoxo

Speak with your gastroenterologist and ask for Questran. It's specifically for this phenomena, also known as "the dump". :crazy2: Been there, done that. Questran was a lifesaver. I've been on it for a few years and my doctor said some patients will have to be on it forever, while others maybe only for a little while.

Good luck!

My doc had me take a probiotic when that was happening, it did really help. Really watch what you are eating, esp the fat content and sugar, and increase your fiber. I will go a few months and be okay and then my GI tract goes nuts for whatever reason...I always kid that my GB grew back :)

Is it all food or do you have triggers? I found that I couldn't drink soda anymore...not sure why, but it made me sick and many sugary things also.

i went back to my normal eating habits (admittedly, i don't eat much tho:)) right after i had my GB removed, without any problems.
my good friend, however, found she could not eat ANY cheese (and greatly limit most dairy), and almost give up beer. my mother also had problems with dairy, as well as other foods.
try to keep a food diary, and eliminate or reduce your "triggers". btw, i agree a daily probiotic is almosa neccessity for many ppl.
gl :)

My personal experience was it didn't matter what I ate or drank. One mouthful of water would send me running. I guess different people have different issues.

Good luck OP and to the other posters as well. :goodvibes

I thought the same thing, I am waiting for another new poster to chime in with a link to a "tablet" that the OP can take.

So you think OP is here to sell something and will create a new identity to do that?

That was my first thought, it may not be true, but it is what I initially thought when I read the thread.

That was my first thought as well earlier this morning, but it doesn't appear to be the case, I guess.

If someone's having trouble following gall bladder surgery (from a year ago), I wouldn't believe that a Disney-related discussion board would be the first place I'd go for information, nor bother to register a new id just to pose the question.

I'll give you this -- it's definitely an odd topic to start your DIS posting life with, but I figured I'd give OP the benefit of the doubt. Guess time will tell.

I tried Questran powder its work but its hard to take it every day i mean not I feel my blood pressure goes down i can feel that , also Questran absorb all the vitamins in your body !!! this is big issue . I tried imodium before the breakfast it work beautiful but im worries about use it long term ...

The most Psychology issue . I will get married soon , and its embarrassing to tell my girl and close friends about that if they watching me using or carrying imodium every day i feel so so embarrass for that , its really hard to say i have diarrhea
i want to cray so hard for this changed in my life :sad1::sad1:

This is a very common-embarrassing problem and unless you have lived thru it you have no idea how debilitating it can be. So even if they are new here - I see it as a cry for help.
I had my gallbladder out 2 years ago and my surgeon did not even tell me about this problem. My family doctor didn't either - and I asked him for help. Didn't matter what I ate - the sudden urge to use the bathroom was horrible! And when I say sudden - I mean you needed a restroom at that moment.
I didn't know how we would make our road trip to Charleston that year. Well I found a new doctor and she told me it is a very common problem - called dumping syndrome - no lie! She prescribed cholestryramine - and it has given me my life back!

You can still take medications and vitamins - just not 3 or 4 hours before or after you use the Questran/Cholestyramine.

Have you researched this on web,md ? Lots of information out on the internet if you search for it.

Your good friends will understand - I still have minor issues - and my friends and I joke about it.

thanks for that , how many time do u use it ? before eat or after ?

I too have been having issues after having my gallbladder removed. My gastro doc prescribed what he called bile salt, I'm assuming that's what questran is? I have not picked up my prescription yet. For those who take it.....is it expensive? any side effects?
