Gail's Journal (comments welcome)

Hey Gail - Great job getting your workout in this morning. Doesn't it just start your day off right when you get your heart going? :D You have a great plan in place... keep up the good work.

I was going to join Curves by my house, but I didn't think it was challenging enough and thought I would get too bored. The gym I know belong to was opening in like 4 months, so I just waited and I love it.

Another day in full swing. Tonight is bowling night..guess I will count that as some exercise. DS is still home sick. I've been worried he was getting dehydrated. So today I am pumping him full of fitness water instead of plain water.

Thanks so much for the encouraging posts. Things are still going well.

Hey Gail...

Have fun at bowling tonight. Hope you do better than I did yesterday :earseek: Hope your DS feels better soon... keep those liquids going.

Yes indeed count bowling as exercise. You're out, moving your body having fun-- that's exercise!!! Hope your son feels better soon.

Good Morning! Made it through my DH bday w/out any cake! I'm so happy...and I had to get through 2! Since we bowl on Wed...the kids had an ice cream cake for dad before we went bowling...and then a friend from bowling made a jello cake for him. I wasn't tempted for either one! This mind control is wonderful! I hope I have the same control when pms for TOM comes

As we all know...I'm a daily weigher...and this week hasn't been a friendly scale week..but I have not even cared about it. I know that I'm not eating bad, and the scale will eventually catch up!(so..someone let my scale know it needs to catch up  )

Another day!

Morning Gail...

Good for you for being strong and not eating the cake. Sweets are my weakness, but I find myself stronger than I was a year ago.

I know what you mean about the scale... I've been doing really well the past week and the scale seems to be going to wrong way. I'm going to just keep sticking with it and eventually, it'll start going down again. I'll make sure to email your scale and let it know it needs to start doing it's job :earboy2:

Have a good day!!!

Care to join our Stay Off the Scale Challenge running until Valentine's Day? ::yes::

Check out the thread on the main WISH board :)

I joined the stay off the scale challenge...but I also joined Curves today. I think it will be good for me. It's not the full blown gym...but at least I'm doing something. They did have to weigh me today..but I don't do that again until Valentine's Day...which is the end of the scale challenge. A friend went with me to join Curves...which is great having a buddy join..even though she's so skinny...she wants to tone up!

Food has still gone good. I still have no desire to cheat. Tomorrow is my official weigh day at home.

Great job, Gail

Joining Curves is a great idea. I hope you and your friend have a blast :cheer2:

Good for you for joining Curves. That's great that you have someone to go with.

Good luck on your weigh in.

Gail, way to go resisting the cake! :cool1:

I'm glad you joined Curves and that a friend is going with you. I hope you enjoy it! I'm thought I was over my nerves about going to the gym but now that Monday is drawing closer I'm getting jittery about it again.

You're doing great! ::yes::

Thanks Guys! I figured it was a foot in the right direction. At first I was trying to find an excuse not to join..but my friend said she was doing it whether I did it or not...so I figured...what do I have to lose? Maybe some lbs and inches!! HEHE! :earseek: We'll see how it goes!

Michelle...once you go..you will be fine. I was nervous going in today. I don't know why...kinda had that feeling like when I go to the dentist! You are doing this for yourself! Who cares about other people and what you think they think!!! Good luck Monday!

Good Saturday Morning! I am happy to announce a 2 lb loss! I am so psyched! I am finally lower than where I started in July! Yippee! Only by a lb, but still! I'm happy! Now, I can't get back on that scale until next Saturday. Hope I can do this.

Have a good weekend. My DH and I are going out this evening for his bday...but I have my mindset! Willpower baby :Pinkbounc

Yeah Gail!!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

2 pounds is awesome! Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the cheers guys!

Last night went great...we went to Applebee's and I had the french onion soup(3 ww points) and the tempuri shrimp (5 ww points). It was so good! I wasn't even tempted that my husband ordered the 3 course meal they are promoting and ate this awesome brownie...it looked so good...but I have my focus right now! I am happy to report that I made it through another weekend~CHEAT FREE!!! That means no beer...no junk food...I stayed OP!! For any that have read my journal from last summer...you can see that weekends are the enemy for me!

I'm still doing well with the SOTSC...wasn't even tempted to jump on that scale this morning. I'm sure that will pass as I get closer to my weigh in day

Good luck to us all on this new week of the new year.

I was laying in bed last night and instead of going to sleep..I have these thoughts racing through my mind. I always read how we didn't put the weight on overnight...so we shouldn't expect to lose it overnight. So, that got me thinking about how much weight I have put on.

Recap...In summer 2002 I weighed around 175. Then in summer 2003 I weighed around 195. So that's 20 lbs in a year...averaging a little less than 2 lbs a month(boy that doesn't seem like much when you break it down in a month..but the overall is horrible). Then in February 2004 I weighed 205...another 10 lbs in about 6 months. Still on that less than 2 lbs a month. Which brings me to when I started on the first at 227. That averages out to about 2 lbs a month...so...I was thinking that when I lose about 2 lbs a week...I am eliminating one of those months in a week!

Sorry for any readers...but it really helps me to see it in writing and remind myself. I know I should be proud of every lb lost! So, as I see it...I've lost 8 lbs and that is about 4 months gone!

Have a good Monday!

I think that is a great way to look at it! It really opens your eyes! Thanks for sharing!
