GAD Upgrade to Renewal of AP

I want to make sure if I have this correct for my upcoming trip.

I have to use my GAD ticket and trade it in for a 1 day ticket at the ticket window.

Then I have to enter the park.

After entering the park I can go to Guest Relations and renew my AP which will apply the amount of a 1-day ticket. If I do this before 8/31/10 I will get my AP for 15 months.

Correct?

Yes - you can do this, as long as you are within 30 days of either side of your existing expiration date.
