GAD Redemption Question

Hello...I've been reading this forum about the GAD program and I'm a little bit confused, so I apologize if this has been asked a million times.

We are using our GAD tickets for 1 day entry on Friday. Am I to understand from previous posters that we actually have to show the kids birth certificates to prove identity and age? We are leaving the next day to go on a cruise, and I don't want anything to happen to their birth certificates (which we need to board).

We will be driving down on Thursday. Can I go to a ticket office on Thurs night to get tickets for the next day? That way, I don't have to bring birth certificates?

I guess worst case scenario, we arrive early Friday and trade out the certificates for tickets and then take the birth certificates out to the car so that we don't carry them around all day. But that just seems like an inconvenience.

Thanks for your input!

First of all, the GAD tickets are valid for Park entry only on the date the voucher is redeemed. So you will have to get the vouchers converted on Friday.

The preferred ID is a government-issued Photo ID, such as a Passport, Driver's License, State-issued ID, etc. For a person under age 18 who does not have one of those a copy of a Birth Certificate is required. Note that you can make a Xerox copy of the BC and bring that with you; leaving the actual BC in the hotel room's safe. The actual BC is not required; only a copy.
