WOW- I'm sorry but I find your posts VERY insulting to the OP. She came here asking a question, not to get a rant against her husband and his needs. We also don't judge people here- we are here to help each other have a nice experience and vacation.
Maybe I am missing something, please help me. The OP stating in the second sentence that no one would want to ride in a car and not be able to see anything, she insulted me.
I read all the other post down to mine, where she states but he does not want sunglasses, he does not want this or this or this, but he does not want FOTLP. If we went in the morning our wait will be this but since we cant we wait longer. That is the gist.
I write in saying she insulted me, stating that and stating that there is an audio discription device.
She write back to me, stating first that she was sorry if she insulted me.
I except that apology and write nothing else. Willing to go on.
I never stated my disability was better than hers, never went on stating anything about her husbands was not disabled. Never insulting her as much as I insulted me.
Then she after apologizing to me, starts quoting me stating that I say my disability is better than hers. I never stated that. I just stated that facts she gave, as low vision or visually impaired, someone who can drive, walk without a white cane, and needs no help during the day may not be considered needing a reasonable accommodation, this after her insulting remark that no one would want to go and see nothing.
She then write, if her husband is truly disabled, I was not questioning whether he was not, I was saying anyone truly disabled visually has the option of discriptive devices. She goes on to say that I somehow was questioning his disability. No maybe I was questioning his need for a reasonable accommodation.
Then OP goes on to start talking about playing games.
I cant quote as much and go back and forth as fast since I am using a reader to read to me, and maybe I missed something.
But I was ready to except her apology and move on, after being told I must not be able to enjoy life, or enjoy riding in a car if I can not see. After offering her an option that no one has giving her which is a reasonable accommodation to those who are low vision or visually impaired or legally blind. It was only after she apologizes and then attacks me again that I say wait a minute. I do know a thing or two, and yes I know about macular degeneration and yes I know about visual impairments, and by your discription of your husband and the way you respond to the reasonable accommodation, he may not need it but you want a FOTLP.
IF that is a rant or rave, sorry, but not one responded to defend any of the blind persons who she insulted. I excepted her apology and did not respond back. But then she starts to attack me again after that and put words in my mouth.
Maybe the word, truly disabled was not the correct verb, since I can not see, I do sometimes in writing use words a little wrong. But it was like saying if your husband is truly paralized he is accommodated by a w/c, I did not mean to imply he was not disabled. But I did imply and meant to imply that his disability did not seem to raise to a level or a reasonable accommodation.
Next time maybe charm in when you think it is insulting to a person to be considered less than a person because we have to sit and not see.
Sue should have charmed in when she insulted me so much, the first time, or the second time or the third time, if she keeps this board free from opinions that my disability is better than yours, because it was the OP that stated that in her OP no me.
As I say, if I missed something please let me know.
To the person who has a problem with another post where I said every chinese person with a camera will ask to take a picture. YOu are right, I should not have specified a country, I should have wrote every Asian with a camera will ask to take a picture. It came from personal experience. If further explanation needs to be stated, then I have been asked for maybe 200 pictures of me and my dog, or just my dog, when at Disney, I would say 150 to 170 where Asian, I asked them why one time, and it was a Chinese person who answered, we do not have guide dogs, dogs are a delicatessent in China so he was inthrolled that a dog would guide. So I was not trying to be insensitive, but I was using knowledge I have, and putting it in poor contense and if that offended you sorry.
