Hi. I have a 5 year old who has sensory disabilities. Last year, we went to disney and used the GAC card and it worked wonderful for her. Does Universal have the same thing? Do they have a special card or stroller as wheelchair card or special waiting areas for children with special needs there? Any information would be helpful!
Thanks.

If you look in the disABILITIES FAQs thread, there is one post about Universal that gives information about their version of Guest Assistance Card.

You can follow the link in my signature to the disABILITIES FAQs thread.

I am sure as Sue says it is covered in the FAQ, they do have GAC cards but they work slightly differently in that you have to renew at each park visit, whereas as Disney you can get one for your length of stay.

In addition, the Universal GAC's look like regular 'express pass' tickets.

We had a new Universal version of GAC card for DS2 when we went last week. It is similar to Disney's except that if the ordinary wait line is less than 30 minutes you can enter using the express line. If the wait line is more than 30 minutes you have to have your card written on which is 15 minutes less than the wait line. I hope this makes sense :confused3 You then have to return at this time e.g. wait time is 60 mins and you turn up at 10am. your return time would 10:45 which is 60mins minus 15 minutes from the time you turned up.

This didn't work at all for us as first of all DS2 didn't understand why we had to go back, it meant lots of criss-crossing the park and the CM couldn't subtract 15 minutes and added it!

You can also only have one return time at once. It is a lot easier for us to stay at a Universal Hotel with their Front of Line access than use this.

We find the reaction to the GAC at Universal varies, what one CM will say another will say differently.
The fact it doesn't look like a GAC, in my eyes complicates the issue.

I must admit I have never come across what Barry says before, in our experience we have always gone down the express lane, irrespective of the wait time.

It could be my initial point as regarding the inconsistency of how it works.

I think it's a new system, someone else on the Dibb had the same card as us earlier this month as well.
