Gabby Petito

As expected, Dr. Blue did not release anything but the most basic information -- death by strangulation, 3-4 weeks prior to her body being found on September 19.

EDITS:
Significantly, that time-of-death estimate spans the dates of Brian Laundrie's return to North Port, FL on Sept 1.

3-4 weeks prior to discovery of the body would put the timeframe of Gabby's death between August 29 and September 5 -- which could have been either before, or after, he left Wyoming. August 22 and August 29.

Dr. Blue's full press conference is on YouTube. Just be advised that they had audio problems and there was no audio for the first 13+ minutes. The press conference actually tries to start at 13:09 into the video, but doesn't really get going until about 14 minutes in. Here's the whole thing:

Coroner says they are estimating Gabby Petito died 3 to 4 weeks before the body was found.

Teton County Coroner Dr. Brent Blue says Gabby Petito died by strangulation.
4 weeks would be roughly August 23rd. She facetimed with her mom on August 24th. August 27th was the restaurant incident. Just calculating dates it'd be 24 days max with the dates August 27th (could have been after the restaurant incident) to when her body was found September 19th.

I don't know if they'll ever be able to pin down a more exact date without more conclusive evidence.

So when was it that Brian went home again? Is it actually possible she was killed while he was gone and he thought she’d taken off on him? Though one would expect he’d notify the authorities…

(just playing a little devil’s advocate)

Thanks, I corrected my post above. That's what happens when I try to do higher math in my head, lol! Tried to count from one to four without using my fingers.

Can they pin the date down any closer?

Probably not based on the autopsy. There could possibly be other investigative leads that could pin it down more accurately.

And he just happened to find her van and drive it home, too, without reporting her missing?

CNN's timeline has him back home 8/17-23.

So August 27th was the restaurant incident. Odd text according to Gabby's mom was also August 27th. August 29th @ 5:30 pm person of interest was picked up hitchhicking. August 30th no service text to Gabby's mom. So if I had to guess, her death is extremely close to August 27th, if not the wee morning hours of August 28th.

I didn't even see your post before I hit the reply (I had typed it out a bit ago but forgot to hit post reply) lol. I was sitting there with my phone's calendar so...I'm not exactly one for math in my either

that is what I don’t get if someone was missing I would have authorities help look right away
Gabby was not missing during that period when Brian was home. And he did not have her van during that Aug 17-23 period. He flew home for a few days and flew back out west.

Obviously, I have no proof of his actions or state of mind, so speculation only.
But it's possible he never thought of her as "missing" because he knew exactly where she was.

This is why I'd like to know what time the “Can you help Stan, I just keep getting his voicemails and missed calls" text was sent (assuming it was sent immediately with service present) since that was sent on the 27th and they felt it was odd for the first name being used. Even if let's say Brian sent that text instead of Gabby it doesn't mean she wasn't alive then when it was sent but more my curiosity of knowing the time. If it was during or before the restaurant incident (and confirmation signal was there) we'd know it was sent when she was alive but still not necessarily from Gabby.

yes that’s why I said “though one would expect him to notify the authorities”.
But you answered my question as well. I think something happened when he got back and he killed her. Of course just speculating.

Here is my very unprofessional opinion. The couple saw Gabby and Brian in the mexican restaurant on the 27th around 1-2pm. Brian was arguing with staff, Gabby came back in crying and apologizing for Brian. At around 6pm that same day, the vloggers in the bus had the video of the van off the side of the road 30 miles from the restaurant. The slowed down video shows the back door of the van closing as the bus got closer. I believe Brian was extremely angry that she apologized to the staff and the argument carried over the entire time they drove to that camping spot. He either stangled her in the van or she went walking to get away from him and he caught up with her in the clearing where her body was found. The last one I doubt because it does look like her flip flops on the ground outside the back van door.
I really started getting interested in this case when I saw the police video of their stop in Moab. Gabby was extremely upset whereas Brian was smiling and joking with the officers. Just reminded me of my life with my exH. If any of you met him, you'd think he was charming and a great guy and wondering what was wrong with me. Behind closed doors is another thing. When angered with me, he could grab me hard or hit the kids in a rage. I could just see my ex laughing and joking with the officers and it just triggered me.

Well this should end the “it was an accident” speculation. You might accidentally push someone too hard. You might accidentally hit someone too hard. You don’t accidentally strangle someone. That takes some serious rage and, dare I say, evilness, to watch the life fade from someone’s eyes. It’s also usually not the first time, or so I have read - meaning that he’d put his hands on her throat before, just hadn’t carried it all the way through.

Brian is a scum and his parents almost certainly helped him get away. If they weren’t actively made aware of what happened (like if he lied and said it was a horrible accident, and they tried to protect him) then this should be their wake-up call and they should come forward with any information they have, or I will consider them equally scummy.

Heck, they discussed with the cops on the body cam footage how he’d grabbed her face tightly enough to cut her cheek — and he had the courage to do that in public with witnesses! I can only imagine what was going on behind closed doors.
