Since we have been going to Disney in 2005, I can't personally recall them offering rates to GA residents until like this year. But I think someone had said before that they did. But it wasn't that often was it, 2005 and later? Either way, when I see Disney is releasing these, they are really needing to fill rooms.

It’s only their hardest to fill resorts but I jumped on it and booked 3 rooms at POR for my family for Christmas week, its like a 60% off discount from rack rate, better than any AP, FL discount or BB discount that I have ever seen

Wow!!!!

Thanks! And I know its almost too good to be true ! Especially for a preferred room and Christmas week !!

While not just Georgia, there was a 2020 discount for residents of Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia or West Virginia.

I don't think they're that desperate. The rates for the rooms I want this December are still high. I'm also in the process of looking for rooms in Cairo. I agree that a standard view at Beach Club "shouldn't" cost more than a Four Seasons executive suite overlooking the river Nile, but such is the rule of supply & demand. There's a possibility that the GA rates only apply to less popular resorts.

That POR rate is the most desperate I have seen in 20 years. It beats the former rates of travel agents who we used to get heavy discounts.

As an NCer I would love to Disney to bring that back (but it would be a bad sign for the economy if it happens)

What other low rates do you see besides POR?
It's only good for the guests who want to stay at that particular resort. I won't believe they're desperate until I see a decent discount for all resorts.
