FYI RE: "Double Dipping"

This thread got funny while I was away!

If I get to the park and there's no double dipping anymore, then I'll go to GR and tell them I want out of FP+ testing. I'm sure they'd resist at first but I will definitely not walk out of that building without being able to pull regular FP instead. I was also told on the phone that I could use both, and I'm not going to be held down to 3 a day. That's ridiculous.

As for the CM's mom? Please also forward this post and let your son know there are a lot of angry people spending hours of their time just trying to link tickets. If they care so much about double-dipping when they're telling people to do it, I guess they don't know that people are already getting tired of this program.

Since I never received anything official information from Disney, I will use both.

You aren't signing a contract saying that if you have MBs an FP+ that you cannot and will not use FP-. Seeing as ppl can grab multiple FP- with many different cards, that means Disney shut off the aspect of the machines making sure that the media was used for park entry. Which means Disney knows people will use both. If they didn't want ppl to do this, they would actually need to verify that EVERYONE using FP+ knows this AND would have to turn back on the park entry verification.

But they haven't.

So, until I am unable, I will be using both systems if I want to. They don't stop anyone from doing it. If they didn't like it, then they would do something about it. This is a 'slow' time, so it is the best time to figure it out. If it were Christmas or summer and FPs were hard to get anyway, they may be more inclined to fix it faster.

I think it's so funny how people create morality out of the blue. When I asked the CMs on the phone AND through the online chat, ALL of them told me that if I participated in the MagicBands test, I would have the ability of using regular FastPass (FP-) as well. That alone is case and point.

People who are complaining need to stop the jealousy. You didn't get picked to participate. It happens. Get over it. Soon FP- will be gone anyway and the point will be moot.

I don't consider it a "loophole" anyway, because if they wanted to disable the ability to use FP- with Annual Passes, Park Tickets, or Room Keys for those with MagicBands, they could easily do that. But as the lady at the front desk of AKL said: "The MagicBands are a test. You may find that at one point or another, they may possibly not work. But don't worry...If you get frustrated, you also have full availability of your actual Passes to get into the parks, charge to your room, or get Fastpasses." I wrote it down the second she said it, because I knew it would come in handy (plus I write everything down anyway...lol)

What I like better than double-dipping is double-splitting. Just got RNR FP- with KTTW and overlapping TOT FP- with UT paper.

Well then when I go in November and I can't pull paper fast passes with my KTTW card and I'm limited to only my 3 FP+s while people who are offsite (and giving Disney a whole lot less money) are allowed to pull as many FPs as they want I can guarantee you that you that your son will be getting an earful from me and Disney will learn that I'm not going to be paying more money to stay onsite for less benefits than those offsite have.

This is exactly how I feel!
I will be there in December staying at GF. I will have 9 day park hopper passes. I will not be happy if I am limited to only three FP+ while others around me can pull more than three FP- with their tickets. If I am limited like that, then I really do not want to do the magic bands and FP+ , but from what I am reading, by the time I go in December, I will not have any choice. If guests staying off property are able to pull more FP than me, staying at WDW's GF, I will not be happy! I not wanting to cheat any system. I just want to be treated fairly by WDW when I am paying good money to them.

You can also tell your son that if I am only limited to 3 FP+ and other people can pull all the FP- they want, there is NO WAY I am linking my tickets up (my Orbitz voucher doesn't work to link up anyways until I pick up Will Call tickets when I get there - another problem they might wanna fix!) .
Guess it will be FP- for me!
I'm totally fine with that instead of being limited to 3.

If indeed someone is stating a relative is a CM then he KNOWS that the " double dipping " ( stupid term: not a Disney term reminds me of chips & common dip bowl...gross) is ALLOWED during this testing period...

As a previous poster stated many many pages ago Have your son/daughter look on page 9 of the My Magic + cast member reference guide that EVERY CM was given...no need to become judgemental ( especially when spouting wrong info) and no need to feel like MB testers are doing anything "wrong" ...MB testers when you check in to your resort ask the CM at front desk for verification, when I was at POP testing beginning of Sept I " quoted" the aforementioned initial poster and well what do you know ?? there it is right in front of the CMs eyes

In fairness, a true test would have people using only FP+ but then that should include everyone. Right now they seem to be only checking the mechanics of the system and not the capacity at least as it will be later.

I understand people not wanting to be locked into only 3 FP+ while offsiters get unlimited FP-. I don't like the inference by a few that they should get nothing though because they might spend less on resorts but they spend as much and often more in the actual parks. I'd like to see it play out as fair for everyone.

Initial poster did not quote it...just to look in their guide..just have them look at bottom of page 9 is what poster said

When I said that , they did, I don't have the guide & they verified it ( lots of pointing and surprised looks by some, others already knew it) No one got snarky..and I was just inquiring as to the truth of it

I get it and agree but it's like everything in this world 2 sides to every story and the truth somewhere in between It will all work out , its just a test period Now don't get me started on the Photopass ( not plus) issues I am having...incredible disappearing and re-appearing pictures At least there I've got photopass management " working on it " Fun times

This! Worked like a charm last week when I was there! And to avoid any issues, we took off our MagicBand when we were going to use a paper FP. No one had a clue

Did you use the cards or the bands for your pictures? With all the Photopass issues, I'm thinking of just sticking with the cards.

Yes the person that shared about her son was probably out of line. It is Disney's job to stop the double use and since they have already printed the passes stopping it and testing them, we got one, she was wrong to say anything.

But the responses since then to me are attacking her and I thought personal attacks were not allowed on the forums.

I have no problem with people getting extra passes, Disney will stop it when they are ready.

However those that are quoting from Disney cast member handbooks. Ask your super if you can share that info on an internet forum and use your real name when you do. I am sure the answer will be no.

The card BUT it automatically showed up on the MB...then certain photos disappeared from both then re-appeared then they all disappeared from MDE but some show up in the OLD photopass website...its their headache & their job to fix I am getting a strong lesson in patience, I act calm, they stay nice, it will work out ..it will work out

I agree that her statement was not necessary. However.

The difference to me is she made a statement, be it a wrong one to share, then others quoted her personally and berated her and even used profanity that was blocked by the system, and made fun of her. To me that is a personal attack.

It became personal because they quoted her personally. Her statement on the other hand was not directed to one person.

those "not a valid fastpass" cards have always been printed from the machine when you use a ticket that wasn't used as park admission. they did not just start doing this because of FP+.
