I know that there are lots of people waiting for their resale contracts to pass ROFR, close, show up in their accounts, etc. so I thought I'd share our experience on a 100 AKV add on, same UY. We used TSS and I was very happy with their service and timeliness with communication.

1/30 -- agreed to a price
2/15 -- contract sent to ROFR (there was a delay b/c I asked the seller to bank some 2010 pts)
3/10 -- passed ROFR
3/21 -- date contract docs were signed by seller
3/30 -- date final contract docs were sent to me and DVC
4/10 -- date contract showed up in my account online (it may have been 1 or 2 days earlier than this, because I called on 4/7 and it was not showing up in my account; today was the first day I looked online since then)

Also -- following others advice, we made certain that the closing docs for our add-on were titled exactly as our original contract and I put our existing membership no. in big, bold marker across the top of every single page of the closing docs. And -- that worked. Disney picked it up and added it to our existing contract !!

We are so excited -- We now officially have 2 homes -- BLT and AKV . . .and, those new points are "burning a hole in our pockets"!! :yay:

On to the planning for the next trip (I know you all can relate to my excitement for that!!) :rolleyes1

Thanks for sharing your resale timeline. I am glad to see that all went well for you.

Enjoy your new DVC points! :thumbsup2

Robert

Our timeline:

2/12: purchased 50 point contract for list price
2/16: submitted for ROFR
3/14: passed ROFR
3/20: received closing docs
3/28: returned closing docs and $$
4/2: closed
4/12: points available on member website

We did not do anything to make sure the points would show up in our account, and the new points are a different UY and member # than our original contract, but the same home resort.

I put our existing membership no. in big, bold marker across the top of every single page of the closing docs. And -- that worked. Disney picked it up and added it to our existing contract !!

Congratulations on your purchase and Welcome Home!

Did you write your membership number on the pages for the deed as well? Since that exact deed will be filed (scanned) on the Orange county website and it's a public record anyone will have access to your member number.

The chances are not many will notice your member number and if they see it they won't realize what that number means.

You can look up your recorded deed on this website. http://or.occompt.com/recorder/web/login.jsp It's not necessary to login, just click the acknowledge button on the first page. On page two add your last name as the Grantee, if it's a more common name like Jones you might want to add a range of dates in the recording dates block. Like the week of your closing and three weeks after closing. Then you'll can select the document you want to see the image of and even download a uncertified copy for your records.

Congrats on your purchase. We had a similar (slightly faster) time line last fall. We're considering an add-on, so I appreciate the advice. I also appreciate the advice about having the number viewed on the registry of deeds website.

That leads to another question: How important is it to keep the membership number confidential?

Thanks.

Congrats all here's our timeline:
2/7 agreed to price
2/8 signed contracts
2/14 submitted for ROFR
3/14 passed ROFR
4/1 Closing Doc's
4/12 closed
Now just waiting for our points to make it into the system

We officially closed yesterday, just waiting on points to hit the system now as well.

Here is our timeline. We're really excited.....

2/22 offer submitted
2/23 offer accepted
2/24 sent to ROFR
3/21 passed ROFR
4/6 closing docs received (after much pestering on my part)
4/7 closing docs returned, money wired
4/13 file closed

With lots of urging on my part, it took 50 days exactly from initial offer to closed. I was told up front that 45 days would be the absolute best case scenario, but most were taking closer to 60. In the end, I am happy with this timeline.
