FYI: More Cuts Coming

Zero hours. Zero hours for the next three weeks. No hours, no paycheck. CM's barely make minimum wage as it is. How do you think they're going to pay their rent and car payment and feed themselves? Or their kids?!

I got one day for next week, so guess I was "lucky". Not expecting much for March though with only one (or no) nightly parade scheduled. From what we were told in our area, day shifts hours were capped but night hours would be a little better.

"Curbside greeters" are the CMs who would meet you outside the door of the resort with an Ipad when you arrive. Sometimes they hang out and wait for DME to drop off a busload. With their Ipads they could check on your room check-in but now you will have to go inside and stand at the desk if you need to have something checked. Not sure if they had them at non-deluxe resorts.

They aren't talking about bell services (luggage handlers). Although they might be cutting a few positions there too. Or the Resort Airline Check-in, which is not operated by Disney, but by a contractor.

I wonder if the Wishes FP+ unavailability in April is related to this. Seems like it takes a lot of staff to manage those areas properly.

Oh... I always thought those were for club level guests... they never bothered with me. :)

I asked on another thread but would they cut wishes cause budget. Were going in July but wishes or msep isnt on the schedule super diappointed.

So, maybe they do really need to court to the AP'ers to win back loyalty and frequent visits after all? Like instead of raising prices to gain more cash (yet pricing people out of experiences), maybe they should lower prices, increase experiences, thereby raise revenue to pay for Shanghai? Idk, I'm not an expert. And why do they do all the construction at once? Would it be better to do one at a time, to decrease costs? As I said though, I'm not an expert, these are just thoughts.

lower prices? The parks are popular as it is. If they lowered prices there would be even more complaining about the crowds. It's not like they aren't getting enough guests in the parks or resorts because the tickets and rooms are priced too high, and they have to lower prices to attract more.

if they did construction projects one at a time, then some of them would not be ready until 2030.

I don't understand why DW in Orlando has to suffer. if Shanghai is in trouble why don't they close it or cut back in that park? It seems strange to me to take the park that is doing so well and trim the fat there. Although I keep saying that the more they cut back, close things, raise prices etc. the more people flock to Disney.

This is sad to hear - if it ends up being true. I just hope everything works out for the best...

Already true. Two groups of cast got benefits cut on Jan. 1 and FT & PT in a lot of areas have hours capped at 32 per week now. Some area staffing levels are also being reduced as well.

The walt disney company gave 600 million pounds to disneyland paris.

The rides and hotels that are being refurbed now havent been dated in years.

We just spent a week and a half at All Star Sports.
(Not exactly a Club level experience.)
When we stepped off the DME bus, a CM greeter met us.

From what I read recently, even "club level" isn't club level anymore.

I wonder how BTG booking is trending this year? (I've heard Brazil is down)

I think Disney wouldnt cut Wishes on their peak season. Looking at the official month operating hours, wishes and MSEP are both in july, with the exception of one week, how weird
