This great thread talks about MM policy at DLR

"Magic Morning (Early Entry) Super Thread" by DLR29 www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1675403

There has long been the question of how many MMs you get when you stay at a DLR hotel. It has been standard practice since 2005 that you can use MM each day it is offerred if staying at a DLR hotel. But it has been ambiguous what the "official" policy is.

I just made a 5 night GCH reservation for July and the CM told me:

"If you stay 3 days or more you get one Magic Morning to the DL park. At the hotel's discretion you can get more than one Magic Morning".

I asked about the rumor that DLR hotel guests will get early entrance to DCA and she told me that she had no information on that. But she did tell me Cars Land "will open in 61 days".

Just thought all the DLR fans here might want to hear what the latest story is from hotel reservations - at least as I experienced it.

Interesting...how do we think the hotels would use their discretion? Hmmm. Interested in seeing where this is going....

Since July 2005 their discretion means guests can use MM every morning it is offered.

This might just be a change in marketing to get guest to make 3 day reservations, but could also be a disclaimer to allow Disney to change MM policies.

Last Summer, each hotel guest received 2 special fastpasses. These could be used on any fastpass ride and Little Mermaid. These passes along with early opening of CA allowed all hotel guest to ride Little Mermaid and Star Tours without waiting.

This Summer, Disney will want all resort guest to experience Carsland. This is the purpose of California Adventure Magic Morning for resort guest only. Even limited to resort guest only, CA MM might be over crowded -- in which case a mechanism to limit the number of MMs would be needed.

Room keys are visually checked at the park gates, but there is no mechanism to scan the room key -- so currently there is no way to limit use to 1 Magic Morning.
A new type of room key or a special Magic Morning ticket issued by the hotel would be needed.

It will be interesting to see how it pans out.

My experience has been that regardless of what they say when you book, the DLR hotels will allow their guests to take advantage of Magic Morning each day it is offered.

The last time we were there it wasn't the key that kept track of our MM entrances but our hopper pass. They could see how many times we had used MM. The room key was how they knew we could get in more then one morning. One morning we presented out Hoppers and room key to the CM at the gate. She was new and still trying to figure it all out. She scanned the Hopper and it dinged that we had already used our MM. She had to call over the lead CM who searched the system and then realized we had room keys and told the CM that she needed to override it.
