Me and DH are staing in the campground for the first time. We will be flying down with the camping equipment. Last time we flew with the eqip we had 8 bags total, 2 checked 2 carryon each. I am hoping to not rent a car for the week just to get the stuff to and from our campsite. Will the magical express drop our stuff at the site or at the main building? If at the main building is there anyother way of getting it to our site other than lugging it ourselves? Any ideas?

I believe they will drop it at your site. I know there are some people on this board who have experience with this. Have a wonderful time!

You know -- I have done this and I don't remember the exact procedure. I do remember that they will deliver your camping stuff to your site when it arrives -- but only if you are actually there to receive it (They won't leave it at an unoccupied site -- which is actually pretty darn smart). What I don't remember is; whether they just cruised by in the van and saw me; or if I had to call the desk to check if my stuff had arrived. In any case, they were super helpful and friendly. Hope this helps. :thumbsup2

...will drop you off at the entrance to FW where you check in. After that you can take the internal bus to get to your site. Don't know if there is any other delivery to the site. One way or another you will get to ride.

Thank you so much  I really didn't want to rent a car only to have it sit all week.

There was a post about this a couple of months back. IIRC, when you check in, they call a van(or whatever vehicle is available) and give you and your gear a ride to your site.

When you check in all you have to do is ask for a ride to your campsite in a FW van. They will bring your other bags when ME brings them to FW. The night before you leave stop by the Outpost and ask for a pick up and give them the time that ME is picking you up.We have used this method many times.

The van thing is perfect! Some thing like this was what I was hoping for but didn't think they would do.

I used to tent camp and fly many times, using Mears, and they've always taken me & my stuff to Ft. Wilderness.

The one time I did it with Magical Express, my stuff arrived within a few minutes of me checking in, so they took me & my stuff in the van.

I have had friends join me for part of the trip using DME and it's been different every time. One time their bags were left at the site put under the picnic table, one time there was a note on the picnic table asking us to call when we returned to the site, one time no note, no bags, but when we called, they brought the bags right by.

Also, one trip, two little pink suitcases were left on our picnic table that were DME tagged that were not ours. We let them know and they picked them up to locate the proper owners.

Disney is happy to provide the finest in complimentary guest transportation from the Outpost to your tent site.

IM so in  with this forum... I was wondering the same question since my parents are driving to Fw with our tent ans stuff and we are flying with the kids with only luggage! Knowing that the DME will take me there and deliver my luggage make me  Disney even more :rotfl:
