FW still closed?

I just read on another board that FW is still closed. They said they are putting people into the other resorts because Ivan is looming in the near future. Has anyone had this happen to them, arriving and being put somewhere else this week?

My sister had planned on leaving tonight for FW. They were going to drive halfway and stop. WDW called today and cancelled theirs reservations. My sister said it sounded like they hadn't been open since Francis. Anybody else hear anything?

They called us, too, but they didn't cancel our reservations, they just moved us to a different resort.

Ok, now I am scared. We leave next Saturday w/ our first night being Saturday night. We have a full hook up site. I was not worried too much since the storm should be gone by Wed and we are bringing all our supplies in the TT. Do you think they just shut down because Ivan was coming and they wanted to wait til he goes by? I am tempted to call and ask but I think I will wait. I know they are probably overloaded w/ calls. Does anyone know?

My family loaded up the motorhome and went down to Florida to make repairs to my grandmother's mobile home that was damaged due to the hurricane. After all of their hard work, my family decided to spend a night near WDW and spend a few hours in the park before heading back to NJ.

They called FW to get reservations and they said they were still closed (since Francis) and will not be taking any new reservations until Sept. 16. I guess they are trying to recover from Francis and see what happens with Ivan.

Well Saturday is Sept 18th so may be we will be ok. I will not feel better til Ivan is gone and I think everyone is thinking that way. Thanks Pezheadval, I do think that is a positive note for me but I am sorry that your grandmother's home was damaged. Is she ok?

Yes, my grandmother is ok. Thanks for asking. She is a snowbird...so she was in Jersey for the Summer...thank God. My Aunt was living there in the mobile home, but she went to wait out the storm in Disney World. So, everyone was safe...and that is what most matters.

Just called FW and spoke to front desk. They are officially opening tomorrow.
